Snoring

I had snored for years...loudly...the sleep study tech had commented that "it sounds like a cow is in the room". Guess what? I no longer snore...at all. It had me baffled because I had snored at this weight before...and at lighter weights. I mentioned it to my surgeon yesterday and he said that they hear of this result at about 30 lbs lost. He said that the weight loss is coming from the palate down and thats why the snoring is affected. He's right. My face, neck and upper chest show the most visible signs of weight loss. What a nice surprise. I am now sleeping beatter than I can remember.

Good for you Joe! I have stopped using my CPAP because my hubby says I don't snore anymore. AND.... I am sleeping through the night! Before my CPAP machine I would wake up about 20 times a night or more. With it I slept through. Have you taken any comparison pics from before and after? I took one yesterday and was amazed at what 30lbs does for you face! I posted the results on my profile if you are interested. It gave me a whole new perspective on this WLS thing! Take care. Lori

HI Lori, I looked at your pics, yest 30 pounds does make a difference. I wondered about the sleep thing as I have a CPAP machine too, but some nights I just don't bother using it, but I am sleeping through the night when I don't use it and that never happened before. I had my surgery Aug 1/05 and am down 31 pounds. Hey Joe, its great not to be snoring anymore eh, and I know what you mean about the weightloss, I really notice it in my neck and shoulders. Take care Joyce
