SORE THROAT - What can I take?

I went to school today feeling pretty good, just a little tired, and came home at the end of the day with a sore throat. WHAT MEDS CAN I TAKE? I'm only 6 weeks out. I see the doc on Thursday, Oct 6. He's always booked up. I'm sure they could squeeze me in, but if I don't need to, I don't want to. Thanks. Jackie B.

I just went through this... I got sugar free cough drops they helped and my dr. told me I could take nyquil. I had a bunch of draining and coughing... and tylenol helps with pain.
