How is everyone else doing in this area? I am beat all the time! I am struggling to get my vitamins in, i can't stand them...they make me sick to my stomach. (so far the only thing that does this too). Gonna go tomorrow and buy a different kind, gonna go get the flintstone kind...since it is the adult kind I can't stomach. I find myself wanting to nap all the time...and my husband isn't understanding this. Did I mention I also have an 18 month old who is back to not sleeping all night? ARGH!! If anyone has an suggestions I would love to hear them! Patti

Hey Patti, The lack of enery is more than normal. Remember you're only about 3 weeks out, which tends to be the worst as far as enery goes. Your body is trying to change it's mind set that you're starving to the reality that you're serious about not giving it the food it's looking for. You're expending a lot of energy I'm sure chasing after that 18 month old, and it sounds like you're not sleeping a straight night through. Add to all of this, you're not getting anywhere enough food to supply the energy you're looking for. Of course you're going to want a nap. Finding a vitamin that works for you should help. Have you tried OptiSource? It's specifically made for bariatric patients. You'll find it at the pharmacy counter at Target and/or Walgreens. It's expensive, but a lot of doctors find that blood work is great long term. Hopefully your husband will recall that you had life-threatening surgery just a little over 3 weeks ago. Dawn

Hi Patti~ I had my surgery on August 30th and I feel the same way. I have no energy. I can't even go to the grocery store for 15 minutes without it wiping me out which in turn hits me emotionally. I use flinstone vits. I think my lack of energy is more from the lack of food and I struggle to get in my liquids. Fortuneatly (sp?) my husband has just wanted me to focus on recovery and doing the things i need to do to get better. I'm sorry your hubby doesn't understand but we do and I'm right there with you girl well minus the 18 month old. I keep hearing that it gets better every day so hang in there and eventually we'll both be better then before! Jenni

Jenni, Nice to know I am not alone!! Love this place for that reason....y'all understand where friends and family don't really... Went and got the flintstone vits, and they are going down much nicer and not making me feel like 64 oz of liquids...whats that??? I too am yet to reach that! water isn't the easiest thing to get down, nor those protein shakes!!!! The water feels like it gets stuck but food doesn't. so who knows? On top of that I feel like if I eat ONE more peice of chicken I WILL GO POSTAL!!!! gonna head off to bed...take care Patti

I'm with you on the lack of energy. I'm sure it is from the lack of calories having done one too many starvation diets in the past. Since I'm having trouble keep some of my food down, that isn't helping. I'm doing OK with vitamins and fluids, but I can no longer manage a 30 minute walk and work is killing me. I don't feel like I have enough energy to walk back and forth the parking garage, let alone everything else I need to do. I'm crossing my fingers and chanting "this too shall pass". Good Luck. Torrey
