Hello! Surgery on: 8-16-05 Start Weight: 297 Today's Weight: 262 6 weeks post-op Total Lost: -35 I feel great. I have recently started to "really" exercise with some old workout videos and have noticed that I have so much energy after I do them so I am trying to do them in the morning and at night. I have experience dumping only twice, but have not thrown up. I've had absolutly no complicaitons, woohoo! I haven't lost any clothes sizes yet, but I have noticed (and so have others) that my face looks slimmer, my double chin is going away, and my collar bones are emerging! Also my watch needs one it the links taken out b/c it is so loose. I should be taking measurements so I can see if I'm losing any inches. Overall, I think I'm doing pretty well. -Lynn

I had RNY Lap on 8/18/2005. I am now 49 pounds down. I am feeling great and don't have to take any diabetes medicine!!!!!!!!! I go to the YMCA four or five days a week and walk 35-45 minutes on days I don't go.

Hi Miss K J! What a great question! It's good to see what others have been through and where others are with their weight loss! Surgery - 8/29/05 Start - 322 26-days post-op appt - 298 Total - 24 lbs. gone forever! I'm now a month and a day post-op, but don't weigh myself everyday. When I used to go on diets in the past, I got into a very bad habit of weighing myself up to 3x a day, and would beat myself up if I didn't lost a pound that day. Very OCD! I don't want to do that to myself mentally, so I'll probably just get myself weighed at my surgeon's office on a monthly basis. If you check my profile, you'll see what I've been though! I have more good days than bad. It seems that I can't yet tolerate a car ride yet...it makes me nauseous, and jiggles everything around, causing pain in the usual places. When I had my bad day yesterday, I was second-guessing myself, saying "why the hell did you do this"? Then I remembered that I lost 24 lbs. in 26 days! These days will come and go, the pain is only temporary, and the nausea will happen from time to time...the benefits definitely outweigh the negative things! Hubby tells me that he can tell in my legs and my face that I've lost weight. My pants are definitely a little loose, and some of the clothes that I've put on are a little more roomier than they once were! And in the car, I've had to move the seat up closer to the steering wheel because I can!!! My shoes are loose! Who would have thought! Best of luck to you in your continued weight loss! Take care! Wendy

My surgery was 8/17... Day of surgery: 323 Today (9/29): 287 So, since my surgery, I'm down 36 pounds. Earlier this year I had joined LA Weight Loss and lost 30 pounds prior to surgery...so my total weight loss since February is 66 pounds and I'm down 100 since my highest weight of 386 two years ago. My goal is 180-200, but I'd be happy with 220, which I haven't been since high school (20 years ago; yikes!) I had a slow start my first 3 weeks...only 19 pounds and then a 3 week plateau! But last week I started losing nearly a pound a day and I'm hoping I don't plateau again for a while! I've had a few setbacks (abcess on my incision which is still draining and painful; esophagial spasms and chronic constipation), but since I've had many other abdominal surgeries, I know that all of these things will resolve. I try to walk as much as possible and except for craving cake, I'm not really having any issues with my diet. I'm still on puree, which is getting old! I love this message board! Best of luck to all of us~! Toni in Philly
