~How much have you lost so far~
Hey Miss K J
surgery 8/05/05
starting weight @ consult (march 05) 372
a month later my weight jumped up to 383
weight 1 week before surgery 366
weight 6 weeks post op 346
total -37lbs
I am now going into 8 wks post op and I need to buy me a scale so I can monitor my weight loss. I've walked 3 miles in less than 2 hours with no problem, i've even walked 2 miles in less than an hour. There is a track by my house and I go there to walk a few laps, I'm not sure how many laps = a mile but i've walked 4 laps in 32 mins so its a total of 8 mins per lap. I feel good and my energy levels are extremely high but I have a few days where i'm just exhausted from not having enough time in the day to do everything. I noticed a difference in my stomach area and when i'm in school i can sit in those uncomfortable seats without much of a problem. I usually had to squeeze myself into the chairs but now i can sit down with less ease. I want to join this weight loss center that seems very promising but the whole thing of cost is a big issue, because its expensive and they just lowered the price but I still have to kick out some money for my membership. So now i'm trying to find little things that can help me with my weight loss thats inexpensive for example fitness videos, a work out routine, something to occupy my time so I don't get bored with walking. But I do feel good and I can't wait to make it under 300lbs and when I hit that mark, i'll be waiting to make it under the 200lb mark.
Surgery 8/31/05
Weight at first consult (6/8/05): 481
Weight on day of Surgery: 430
Weight as of 9/21 (3 weeks post-op): 406
Total loss 75lbs
Loss since surgery 24lbs
I have had pain everyday since I got home. It's mostly muscular and I twisted wrong a week ago and pulled the same muscle. I see my surgeon next Thursday and hopefully she won't find anything else wrong.
I am able to get my protein (I drink Isopure Zero), but have trouble getting all my fluids. I generally am not wanting to eat *anything* so I end up only having 2 meals a day. It seems with my regular medications and now all the supplements (5 chewable VistaVitamins, 2 chewable Vitamin C and 2 Calcium Citrate (huge tablets))that I spend all day trying to take all my pills. I think this also contributes to me not wanting to eat.
I did overeat for the first time 2 days ago. I had 1 oz of chicken and about 2 T of red beans, I had the classic reaction...tightness at my breastbone followed by vomiting. I learned my lesson!
Hello everyone,
my surgery was on 8/16/05 I had LAP RNY
I was 226 day of surg
I went to dr thus for i month visit
I weighed in at 193

I feel great and can do more than before. My self confidence is getting better. I can't get use to co-workers telling me how good I look.
I was working out regular but with Hurricane Katrina hiting Slidell the club was closed but now they are open so I will get back on track.
good luck to all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Take Care,
Chrissy
Well after reading everybody's reply's I feel better as far as feeling tired in the afternoon's after eating - that is probably a sign of dumping also from what I have been told - I still take a nap in the afternoons but that is cause I can, I don't know what I will do when I finally get back into the workforce.
my question is do you count the 10 pound I gained in the hospital???
surgery 8/23/05
pre-op - 266
post-op 276 day after I got home
9-23-05 - 242
24 lbs lost (unless you count the 10)
I broke my ankle 2 weeks post-op and haven't been able to walk which I was walking 1 mile everyday. but I am doing crunches and arm exercises- I just lay down on the floor and prop my legs on the couch and work it from there.
congrats to everyone on their losses! The frustrating food thing is normal from what I also understand. The taste bud change is just plain weird - the things that I liked before I don't like the taste of now!! - my hubby is so understanding he just keeps telling me that I am looking awesome and it will get better and easier as I get further along and I think about how hard it was the 1st 2 weeks and think yep much easier!! ~
Hi, I had a rny revision done on 8/24/05. My starting weight was 260. My current weight is 230. My total weight loss is 30lbs. I feel great! My energy level is rising and Im doing pretty good with my eating. i just have to remember to eat very slow!!! I have yet to exercise. Im in the middle of packing to move into a new house and getting ready to return to work on 10/3/05.
Surgery Date: 8/1/05
Starting Weight: 258
Current Weight: 216
Total loss - 42 lbs.
I was on a 2 weeks stall over a week ago and I too was worried that this wasn't going to work. I even gained 5 lbs. and I was devastated.
I made the following changes and was able to lose 9 lbs.
Less nuts (a lot less)
no fruit
more water
more protein (2 shakes w/extra powder) 60-72 grams
more meat protein
less veggies
Stayed in Ketosis
exercised (only 3 days)
Made up for the 5 lbs gain and loss an additional 4 lbs.
I can see that you have to work your tool. No free ride.
This was a GREAT question.... It has made everyone feel great about their weightloss because we are all around 25-35lbs....
I feel great. I have walked or gone on my elliptical all days but 4. I try and exercise at least an hour a day. I get all my protein in and my vitamins, supplements (except iron...every third day or so because it constipates me). I have to puree all my food still. My doctor did give me permission to try meat as long as it was pureed. I have handle it great... my only problem is getting all three meals in. But, I have been doing better this week. I have had no diarreha, dumping or throw-up... So, I am great...but at times I feel a little discouraged especially last week when I only lost 1 pound, but now this week I am right on track....
