Just curious what everyone else is eating at or around 1 month postop. Here is a sample menu for me: b - water, vitamins s - cheese stick l - cup of soup (creamed kind) s - cheese stick d - mashed potatoes I vary it sometimes with some cottage cheese in there or some yogurt. And often times I will have a sugar-free popsicle in the evenings. I try and get at least 32 oz of water or liquid in me. Lori

You eat salad? That surprises me! I didn't think we could have salad so soon. Good for you! Lori

B- 3TB. either yogurt or jarred baby cereal with fruit in it, or cream of wheat (2Tb) with 1 Tb baby fruit L- 2Tb baby meat plus 1 Tb. baby fruit or veggie or dinner choice D - 2 Tb baby meat and 1 Tb baby veggie or fruit; or 21/2 Tb refried beans with 1/2 Tb shredded cheese melted on it; or 2Tb. finely ground chicken or turkey with either melted cheese (1tsp) or smidgeon of barbeque sauce and 1Tb baby or blended fruit or veggie. I have tried other blended foods - sloppy joes (not a good idea - didn't set well) also tried blended pork chop (definitely not a good idea - first got stuck - passed through when I guzzled some soda, and then I had a sore pouch for 2 days). I blended spaghetti last night but only had a bite. It went down ok, but I was concerned about the carbs. I have been a nurse for 26 years, and can blend almost anything but what sets well seems to be limited! Tomorrow I go for my one month check-up. I think I will be able to progress to mashed foods - like tuna (I actually had 3 TB. of Subway's tuna salad for lunch Sunday & it was fabulous - went down just fine!), and other mashed foods. I am staying away from the carbs since I get so much carb in my 3 glasses of skim milk each day! My blood sugars have gone up since I started the milk at 1 week out! That's just what I have been eating. Luckily I like baby food so it hasn't been a hard 3 weeks for me! Laura

Sorry - I should add that I drink 3 cups of skim milk, 60 oz. of water and other non-carbonated sf beverages (mostly water). I have also had on occasion sf pudding, blended cottage cheese and tomato with a smidgeon of milk to blend, and today I had a string cheese stick. These are usually as an afternoon snack @4 ish since we don't eaat dinner till @7 and I have b at 8am, lunch at noon. No other snacks, though. Laura

I had lap-rny on 8/22. I try to get in my water and protein but it's hard. B- Promedics Chocolate Drink 15 g protein S- 1/2 Carb Lite Fit & Lively Smoothie or the yogurt or cottage cheese L- about 1/2 can of Campbell's cream Soup at Hands or not all but most of 2.5 oz pop can prepared tuna or chicken salad S- rest of 1/2 Carb Lite Fit & Lively Smoothie or the yogurt or cottage cheese D- rest of 1/2 can of Soup at Hand S- SF popsickle or a bite of a mushed veggie I take 2 multi-vitamins, 1 iron (great tasting), and 1 calcium citrate (awful cinnamon) a day. I think that I'm suppose to take 2 calciums but I can't bear the taste. I'm trying to get in my protein by adding Isopure (40g protein) flavored drinks to my Crystal Light, but I'm really having trouble. I'm buying some protein drinks, 11 oz & 35 g protein, from a friend who used to sell Amway. It's called something else now. It tastes okay, but still has that chalky taste. I just need more protein so I thought that I'd drink the protein drink, 1/2 in am & 1/2 in pm to get in the 35 g. plus drink the Isopure with my Crystal Lite. That would get me about 75 g. protein a day if I can bear to drink it all. That's my goal in the next few weeks. Jackie B

I get no veggies for one more month, so basically meat and beans now. I will add salsa or onions to my meat sometimes, but I can't have fruits and veggies because that's just less room for all the protein I need to get in, believe me, I am dying for some mashed potatoes! So this is my schedule: B: weight smart oatmeal (8 grams protein, low sugar) Nectar protein drink (23 grams protein- I drink on this almost all day) vitamins (bari-blends) L: chicken or beans usually, sometime chili (wendy's is great) Iron pill S: High protein cereal bar (I get this from my doctor's office, 15 grams protein) D: Whatever, chicken, low carb tacos (all the usual, no shell or chips), low carb lasagna (recipe from this forum, yum!), chili, or pretty much whatever floats my boat!!! Vitamins That is usually my day, it varies somedays. I have lost 42 pounds, (including my 11 pre-op). Good luck to everyone! Amanda

Hi Lori, I'm 7 weeks post-op, but have been eating the same since about 1 month out. B - Biochem Lo-Carb Ultimate Whey Protein drink 6-8 oz w/3 ice cubes crushed and Soy milk (27 g of Protein) L - Chicken Salad, Refried beans, Yogurt, 1/2 banana, I've tried deli turkey & deli ham but have thrown up each time on this, cheese sticks, cottage cheese, soups, mostly soft foods still. S - Pretzel Peanut Butter by hanover's or Kashi crackers D - Same as lunch, or scrambled egg w/cheese I've had sausage (patty) usually 1/2 to 3/4 can't eat the whole thing and it is with my egg. I've had ground beef and that does well. Also have had a ground turkey burger from organic store. I take 3 children's multi chewable vitamin, 2 catrate plus 600, 1 B150 vitamin from Publix, 3 magnesium and will start iron next week. That's what I eat most of the time. The best thing is the protein drink. I really like Biochem and it is very filling and quick for breakfast. If I know I'm not going to get in my allowance need of protein in the day, I'll have another drink around 8:30 p.m. to help keep my diabetes in check (off my meds for this now). Lori
