After reading the earlier post about weightloss...
Surgery date 8/31/05
Weight 277 lbs.
9/20/05--3 weeks Post op
Weight 257 lbs.
20 lbs total lost and hoping for more. Those of you out there comparing please try not to feel discouraged if you lost less than someone else. As you can see I did. Remember everyone is different. There are a lot of reasons why. If you weigh more you will probably lose more in the beginning. Are you gettting any exercise even if its just a short walk. What are you eating ? Are you watching your protein and carbs? All of these things should be taken into consideration. Oh, and don't forget plain old heredity. some of us were just born with a litttle slower metabolisms than others. Hang in there though. It'll be worth it in the end.

started at 226, was 221 day of surgery. today down to 205. that's only 21 pounds and only 16 since surgery, but i was back in the hospital twice, so i know that has slowed my weight loss. i hate those fluids they give you! this week i started eating more normal, small, 3 meals a day, so hopefully this week things will improve. i also haven't been walking cuz i've been so sick on and off, but i'm starting back on that today. and hopefully next week the dr. will let me go back to the gym! good luck to all of you!
