I'm a very slow loser and have only lost 20 pounds in five weeks. My surgeon said, even two pounds a week is 100 pounds per year. Stop the scale jumping and only weigh yourself once a week. As long as you are logging your water and protein, exercising, and staying away from carbs you will lose using the tool. Good luck, Luann

I only lost 4 lbs the 1st week & then started losing. So far it's 21lbs after 22 days. As everyone tells me " we're all different" Rosemary

Hi Amy, I agree with the not weighing ourselves. Why should a scale determine what kind of day I'm going to have? I had the surgery, I'm doing my best, there is no way I'm going to get on a scale every day or even every week. I can tell in my clothes and how I feel that I am losing, I do not need a number to determine my self esteem. If you are doing everything you are supposed to do the weight will come off.... stop worrying about it - and start living your life! Hugs to you! Adrienne xo

Hi Amy, I know how you feel. I am 6 weeks out and at 4 weeks I thought I would have lost more then 18 pounds. At week 5 the scale moved to 22 pounds and now at 6 weeks it has moved to 28 1/2 pounds. It has been frustrating, especially when it didn't move during week 2 1/2 to week 4. I don't know what caused the problems except that I am never hungry and drinking my liquids is tough. I have however, increased my liquids and that seems to help. Also, even if I do just 7 to 10 minutes of cardio, the next day the scale moves...even if it is only 1/2 pound that is so encouraging. So, my advice is to keep up the protein, drink as much liquids as you can and get moving...even if it is just 5 to 10 minutes a day. Hope the journey gets better! Lori

Hi Amy, I know how you feel - I GAINED 18 lbs in the hospital in fluid and it took me almost two weeks to loose that. By the time I went in for my two week ck up I had only lost 5 lbs of actual weight. Now I am almost six weeks out and I have lost 50 lbs (including the weight gained in hospital) It will happen, Just keep working the program and it will happen for us. I was very scared also that I would never be the loser I needed to be but I am beginning to believe. You should too. GOOD LUCK! Susan Milner

Amy- I agree! Stay off of the stupid SCALE! Try on some clothes. I am two weeks out and went from a 18 to 16, but I REFUSE to weigh myself. I am just celebrating that I have the surgery complete. I went to a support group meeting tonight w/ a dozen women who can not get their insurance to approve. I felt very fortunate to be this far. Hang in THERE, Don't hang a a scale, Good Luck, Laura D.

I am 6 weeks out and have lost 28 pounds. I keep stopping as well. Did you measure? I measured before I went into the hospital. I have lost tons of inches-8 on my hips alone, 5 from the chest and 5 on my thighs! Sometimes when you aren't losing pounds, you are losing inches and that is important. I was losing 1 pound a day for the first 2 weeks as well. I try not to step on the scale daily, but it is hard isn't it!! It'll happen, just be patient for a little longer!!
