Protein shake help
Hi Crissy! I had my surgery on 8/29, and as of 9/9 when I went for my 2-week follow-up, I lost 17 lbs!
Check out bariatriceating.com, which is an awesome site! The founder, Susan Maria Leach, had the surgery in 2001 and all the products that she has on her site are ones she stands behind. She also has product reviews, so you can see what others are saying about different products. I'm reading her book as well, which is an excellent read for pre and post-ops. She has a lot of recipes in it, as well as recipes for different variations of protein shakes (i.e. adding different fruits and extracts for different tastes) using Zero Carb Isopure Creamy Vanilla, which is delicious! Two scoops contain 50g of protein. If you like coffee drinks, the AchievOne Protein Latte coffee drinks are awesome...they taste just like a Starbucks Frappucino and have 20g of protein! She also has Snack & Slim chocolate pudding snacks that also contain 20g of protein...taste just like Jello pudding! There are packages that you can purchase that have sample protein pouches, like Nectar, Isopure, etc., that also include a shaker that you can use at home, work, etc., so you don't have to buy a big huge container of protein that you don't like.
She also has protein bars when you're ready, liquid and chewable vitamins, as well as different foods and sauces.
I received all my products quickly, and they also put some sugar-free candies in my package for free!
Best of luck to you!!!
Wendy
