Post op 2 + weeks now, woo hoo! :-o
Well, ive been so busy, with tests and things, i havent had time to come back and give an update, now that i have finaly found out how to add things, im here to do that. I had my surgery on Aug 23rd, at around 7 am. My children came with me, got to miss school ;) and im so glad they were there with me. It was a bit early for my parents, but they came after noon, and i got to see them and my brother and sister and nephews and nieces, and all were very supportive. The hospital experience was great. Everyone was so helpfull. Something a bit unusual did happen tho, lol, i started my 'moontime' as we Cherokee call our monthly. The nurses said that it seemed that every woman that comes in for surgery has said the same thing, something about stress causes it to come that very day, lovely, all we need right? Anyway that was interesting to be sure. I was in 2 days, they said I coudl come home that day if i felt like it, i didnt. so stayed that next nite, and left around noon the next day. I was so worried to even eat anything, from the things i have heard. But im now over 2 weeks post op (gawd i nearly typed postpartum, ive always been to hospitals to have babys lol) and im on semi solid foods now, WOO HOO cottage cheese and mashed potatoes, and yesterday i made scrambled eggs with cheese. It tasted like a banquet after all those sweet liquids for that first 2 weeks :s. My insicions have never bothered me from day 1. No pain, only pain was inside, and mostley from GAS. It was awful, i did walk that nite, and a few times the next day. And was not that bad at all. When i got home, and started on my liquids, i looked forward to the broth, as everything was cold and sweet. But, everytime i tryed broth, it gave me horrible gas. So I tryed only a couple more times to see if mabie it was the brand, and it all gave me gas, and i had enough of that, so just stopped the broth. Im having a little bit of a problem getting enough protien, but they said its ok now, that, the amt. I have to get in me is a long term goal. Well, im not sure what else to say really. Im looking forward to weighing, i feel i have lost alot of 'water weight' my face is smaller and my ankles are very thin looking lol, only place i had no fat it seemed, hands and ankles *rolls eyes* I will add some more after my drs visit, i go on the 19th of this month, Sept. Untill then....keep smiling
Congratulations & welcome to the losing side...... So glad to hear everything went well. I will be 4 weeks on Monday & should be advancing to stage 3 wooo hooo, the mooshy stuff gets boring after a while. I lost 15lbs as of the 31st. My next visit is Sept 21st. We'll see how things go then.
Keep up the good work & keep us posted.
