Hey all, I'm getting a little frustrated. I posted last week that at my 2 week appointment, I had lost 20 pounds. I was thrilled with those results, because I have NEVER lost that much weight in 2 weeks before. Anyway, since last Friday, I've only lost 2 more pounds. Could it be that I'm plateauing already? I mean it's going to be 3 weeks tomorrow....shouldn't this be the "rapid" phase? Please help. Corinne

don't sweat it, your body is holdin on to all it's got, the pounds will come off. meanwhile, pay attention, i bet you are losing inches!

Hi Corinne, 1st, I'm 5 weeks post op and just managed to lose 20 lbs. I lost 9, 3, 3, 2, 4.5. With that weight loss went 16.5 inches. We all lose it differently and like someone *****sponded to my weight frustration message, you've lost 22 lbs in 3 weeks w/o being hungry and with the probability that you'll never regain it! 2nd, I hit my frustration at the same point - 3 weeks. The RN in charge of my program said that week 3 is often the hardest as we start realizing what we've actually done to ourselves and your body is basically starving and just begging for food. "After this point it realized you're serious and gets back on the program." as quoted by her. Keep following your program, take monthly anniversary pictures and measurements and we'll compare notes again in 3 months and see if we're not both a lot happier. Dawn

Hi There, I am going thru the same thing.... I lost like 13 pounds my first week... like 5 my second week.... I am about 4 1/2 weeks out and down about 26 pounds... which isn't too shabby... (when have I ever lost 26 pounds in a month?) I am trying to think the plateaus in a positive way.... it gives our skin a little bit of time to catch up with the weight loss helping us avoid tummy tucks and other cosmetic surgery later.... Alright so my positive thinking doesn't always work but hey it helps durring the slow times... Enjoy your weightloss! Bridget 280/254/140 rny 8/8/05

hi, i think we're all going through the same thing. i lost 15 lbs the 1st 2 weeks & about 2 lbs this last week. my sister is 10 weeks out & did exactly the same thing for her 3rd & 4th week and if you look at the june or july board you'll see that a lot of people go through the same thing. i think it's because of the dramatic weight loss in 2 weeks. your body is kind of playing catch up. my sister loss 14 lbs the 1st 2 weeks & was stuck, she's now down about 40 lbs. keep following your guidelines and your body will catch up. Oh, measure because I've lost a TON of inches even with the lack of weight loss. Tammy

I have a friend who gave me a tape measure to use during the times that the weight doesn't come off. She says the tape measure will show inches even when the scales don't show anything. The body is adjusting, even when the scales don't show it. Just a thought. Love, Joni
