Hello, August Board: Tomorrow is the big day. My wife and I had a meeting with the kids and their beaus last night to delegate responsibility and talk about who could be in the house while we are away. Someone needs to feed the dogs! I'm starting to get nervous. I can't really say at this point I'm afraid, but I am taking precautions - letter to my wife and ones to my children in case the worst happens, will signed, advance medical directive completed, etc. Congratulations to all who have started life on the loser's side. I'll be there tomorrow. My surgery is at 7:30 - I am also the first one in, as several people noted that they were today. See you soon! elizabeth

Coongratulations on your surgery tomorrow. I know exactly how you feel. Last Monday when I got to the hospital they asked my name. I burst intotears, and then I couldn't stop shaking. I was terrified something would happen and I would leave my children motherless. However - I did great. I had a totally uneventful surgery, took about 90 mins. I had no pain afterwards, and went back to part-time work on Friday. I got my J-P drain out today , feel fabulous, and lost 10 pounds this week. I am sure you will do just as well. I am very proud of myself for having the surgery, and I am proud of you for making this decision. Good luck to you. Let us know how things are going! See you on the losing side! HOORAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hugs, Laura
