I had my surgery on the 9th and everything went great. I'm beginning to think I was very lucky to have a doctor who insisted on a liquid diet for 2 weeks before surgery. (in order to shrink the liver). while it was hard pre-op, post op has been a breeze. I am back to work and into my normal routine. I had fun recovering with a bunch of low-fat cookbooks on my bed looking for recipies that I could eat, that my family would also be able to eat. I have how come up with a database on my computer so menu planning is a snap. My whole family needs to lose weight (although not nearly as much as I do) so it will be a new day for all of us. So far they have been liking everything I have made. I didn't cook at all while I was on the liquid phase both pre-op and post op. That was a little too much for me, so my girls and husband took care of themselves. The hardest part was to have one of them come plop down on the bed next to me with their dinner to chat. I seem to be having the post problem with not being able to drink enough. I drink my 8 oz an hour, but when I'm working in the yard (started that 2 days ago, 1st time this summer!) or busy around the house, its been very warm and I am always so thirsty. Sugar-free popsicles are my "sweet" indulgence. Sorry to ramble, it's great to be here!

Congrats on your recovery! Mine has been similiar and I am glad to hear from you, that I may be able to finish some yard work soon. My flower beds are looking wretched! I found that if my sodium levels got too low, no amount of water would help, so I make myself take breaks and sip my Chicken Broth and then go back to water. (even SF Jello has a tiny bit of sodium in it) So if it is warm outside where you are working, maybe you're sweating some salt out and the water can't keep up? Your attitude seems wonderful! I am sure you'll continue to do well.
