The battle is about to begin

Wow, I cannot believe that next week at this time I will either be dead or on my way to a new life! Most of us don't want to admit to the fear of dying, but when confronted with major surgery... you gotta think about it while filling out the consent forms. I figure that my chance of living a longer life is alot greater with the surgery than without. I am a diabetic and the thought of fewer injections per day is something I really look forward to. I look at clothes that are not polyester plus sized and can't even imagine that I will someday be able to wear clothes not made by Omar the tent maker. So, this is my farewell message.... either to this life, or more likely this life of excess... food, self-indulgence, immediate gratification. I really believe I will need some help dealing with these changes... as I munch on my Starbucks muffin I am looking up a counselor who will help guide me through the maze of conflicting emotions I will deal with in the future. Boy... I am pretty darn nervous and scared. Wish me luck!!!
