For me... day 17 post-op with no restrictions, which happens to be when I was supposed to go back as I'm a teacher and tomorrow is our 1st report back day. Dawn

Hi Tamara! I work in a home-office so it's pretty easy and non-stressful work. I went back the Monday after my surgery (just 1 week out) and no problems so far. I just don't do any lifting nor do I bend over if I drop something or something has to be picked up or moved around. I'm just 16 days out and so far (knock on wood!) no problems! Take care and god bless! Dolly

I work a desk job, went back 7 days post op from lap rny. I worked the first week 8am to 3pm. This week (my 2nd week back) I'm back to 9 hour days.

I had my WLS on 6/21 and I'm STILL off work! Had some complications tho (gastric ulcer and gallstones) and ended up back in the hospital. Planning to return on 8/22. The fatigue has been overwhelming for me. If you can afford it, I would just say listen to your body and stay off as long as you feel you need to. Sharon

Confession time: had my lap rny on 08-11-05, went home 08-13; went to class 08-15, 08-16 and went to work in the ER 08-17 but only to do triage my entire shift. I worked last night too....my only restriction from my surgeon is NO LIFTING over 20 pounds....fortunately, we just got these new lift systems in that we're supposed to be utilizing all the time, it makes it easy on me. So, yep, went to work in less than a week, am doing fine, am off tonight and going back for a four day stretch tomorrow night, all 12 hour shifts. But then I get another glorious week off to be relaxed, walk, play, etc
