7 days post-op...
Hey everyone, this is the first chance I have had to post since coming home from the hospital after having my lap rny on 8/10. Everyone seems to be doing well on the board, which is great!! I have been pretty good too, no nausea since I went off the morphine in the hospital, although I feel like I am going to explode form the inside out every time I cough or laugh. The breathing apparatus has become my personal torture device. I have been able to get down small amounts of malt-o-meal and cottage cheese, but pretty much still doing the full liquids, broth and blended soups. I am going stir-, I am not used to sitting around the house watching t.v. this much. I can't believe I am complaining about not working..lol. But I would kill to be able to drive somewhere, anywhere, I even asked my mom if I could come with her when she went to the bank and CVS, its sad really... Anyways, thanks for listening to my boredom rant. Everyone take care!.. Traci
I'm six days out, but for the past two days, I've made it two miles in my daily walks. I took my first walk the day I got home from the hospital, just around the block...Sunday morning I did the around the block thing twice....Monday my kid made me do it again. Tuesday we went to the levee, walked two miles, and did the same this morning. I wish I could ride a bike, but I'm not quite there yet.
As for food, I don't get any soft food until a week from now..still on liquids here. But, did get all my protein the past two days...now I gotta get the water level up there too.
Glad you're doing great. Lucky for me my step-mom stayed with me for the first week post-op and we went to the mall, etc. for my walks. It was/is too hot here to go walking between 8 am and 9 pm. As of yesterday I was able to get on my bike again (I have a recumbent and I had gained so much weight that I didn't have enough room for my rear-end) so I go to bike along the river for the last 2 days. Made my day. We'll all get there sooner than we think.
