I'm back....13 days post op
Hi All!
I'm finally back after nearly two weeks away. My surgery experience wasn't the greatest, but I am here, recovering, and moving foward. Compared to almost everyone else post op, my weight loss isn't impressive; only 13.5 pounds thus far. At least it's *something*, right?
Good Luck to all of you coming up on your dates!
Becca
Hi Becca,
Sorry to hear your surgery wasn't as smooth as it could be. I so understand the 'lack' of weight loss compared to some of the others here. I did great week one. Had surgery on the 1st, weighing 240, came home on the 3rd weighing 252! By the 8th, I was at 231. Since then I've only lost 3 lbs. I keep trying to remember this isn't a contest, everyone has different amounts of weight to lose and our body chemistry is different so we're all going to lose at different speeds. I was hoping to be close to, or have met, goal by Christmas - based on people in my support group success - but after this week, as long as I meet it by the end of a year I'll be content.
Hope your recovery goes well.

My surgery was a day after yours and I too have lost 13lbs. I thought I would lose a lot more. I'm trying not to get discouraged. I just can't help to think that the surgery didn't work for me. I see how much others lose on this site. I guess it's not good to compare you weight loss to others because everyone is different.
Good Luck!
Hi Becca,
I had my surgery on Aug 1st also and as of today I am only down 19 pounds. I thought it would just fall off. I think the slower the better for sagging skin. Don't get discouraged. We can do this! Someone told me exercise would really speed things up so today I went to the gym and did 30 minutes on the eliptical machine. I will let you know if they are telling me the truth or not. Hang in there!
Remember 1 pound off is better than 1 pound on!
