Post op 6 days.
Every thing is going very well. I am staying at my sisters so she can help me. I feel very fortunate to be feeling so great so soon after surgery. I have read of some of you having difficulties. Hang in there. Don't be afraid to talk with your dr. Open communication will better your chances for a healthy recovery. Take Care y'all.
I am post op 7 days today and am feeling 100 times better than I dreamed I would be. The first 3 days were so very painful, they made my past c-sections feel like a stubbed toe. Every day it is getting better. I am feeling hungry and trying to make it through this clear fluid 2 weeks that my doctor prescribes. The sugar free popscycles and jello are not satisfying my hunger...but is this head hunger or stomach hunger? I don't know. After 2 weeks of clear fluids, I move on to pureed meats for 2 weeks. From there, my doctor said he recommends strictly protiens for 6 months. Does this sound correct to all of you all???
Hi Donna. I am glad to hear that you are doing well also. I know the clear liquid stage is very hard. I had to do it a week before my surgery and then the week after. I started on full liquids this week. I cannot have pureed meats for a while yet. After this week I will go to pureed food but I'm not sure if this will include meat yet. I use a lot of protein powder. I know I started feeling a bit hungry at the end of my 2 weeks clear liquids. I am now finding that this next stage is giving me much more gas. Know matter how much we read there are just some things that we must experience ourselves. I am having a major problem sleeping at night. I am staying at my sisters so maybe once I get in my own bed that will help matters. Please confide in your dr or nurse with any questions or concerns. They may be able to alter your diet to better suit how you are feeling at this time. Take care and the best of luck with our new adventure!
