Hey there everyone! I am home! it feels so nice to be back! I had surgery on MOnday 8/8, (thanks for all the thoughts and prayers by the way!) everything went great... I was really tired on MOnday when I woke up... it took a lot out of me just to walk about 15 feet! Tuesday, I was doing better but still tired, I got up to walk about 3 times... I met with the doctor on Tuesday and he said I could go home Tuesday night if I wanted... I decided that I would rather stay one more night just to make sure.... I left wednesday morning at about 11:30 or so... It was a rough ride home.... Chicago roads suck!... lol I made it home took a pain piull and went to bed... SO far it has been a pretty easy road.... I did have a mini panic attack when they tried to put the breathing treatment mask on top of my oxygen nose thingy which was pulling at my neck... I was just freaking out! It was too much stuff all in one area... I knew I had some issues about that, but I had never really had an attack like that.... Lets hope it never happens again! SO other than that I feel great.... I am hoping to start on some protein shakes tomorrow and maybe a bit of pudding! YUMMY! Hope everyone else is doing well! Bridget

I'm glad everything went great. I'm a week ahead of you and have started one meal of soft proteins. It's making a huge change in my energy level. I find it amazing how everyone here has a different structure they are following pre and post op. All I got the first week was clear broth (which I will NEVER eat again) and sf jello. Keep it up and remember, you've had a major surgery and if you feel tired, sleep without feeling guilty. Dawn

hello there my Rebirthday Twin Sister!!! I'm glad you are doing well, ..I too had my surgery on 08/08/05, and had experience similar to yours.... even same with Oxygen thing that I kept pulling off...I'm not in that much pain now, but felll absolutely exhausted... going to the bathroom seems like a major trip...and for some reason I feel my weakest today.... maybe I've overdone it yesterday after coming home...( Stupid me cooked dinner for my family, and then went to the store to get stocked up on vitamins)... Nothing particularly seems yammy...I started protein shakes (and thank God I can do milk so far), jello and broth...trying to drink water, but not quite successefull at it...... Keep me posted on your progress... hugs, Rita from Atlanta
