Hi! I had my surgery on August 2nd. I got home on August 4th. I had some nausea and vomitting from an allergy to the pain medication on Saturday. Thank GOD my surgeon gave me her cell # -she does that for all patients- and I called her and she helped out right away. I decided to stop the pain med Sunday. I went into my surgeons office yesterday, only being 6 days post op, and already lost 7 pounds. I got my staples out yesterday too. I am feeling more 'human' now. I can drink protein shakes now and I had a little bit of an egg yesterday. I can't wait to keep progressing and feeling stronger/100%... I wanted to say GOOD LUCK to all that has surgery upcoming You are all in my prayers Thanks to all of you! Smiles JENNA

Hi Jenna, Glad you are home and doing okay. I had my surgery on 8/5 and home on 8/7. I have not been able to really get off of the liquid diet. I tried my protein shake and it made me so sick. I am also having a hard time getting in all my water and I am really working on it today because I do not want to be dehydrated. Anyway thanks for your update. It helps to hear how others are doing. Thanks for the prayers and good wishes, they are right back at you! Kelli

Hi Kelli, I am sorry to hear that your protein shakes make you feel sick. Did you try a sip of it the next day? Sometimes it may not agree with you one day but be better another day. I also had to make sure I took SMALL, LITTLE SIPS and wait a few minutes in between them! My pouch (and yours too) is so small that I have to take time to learn how much I can actually take in at once. I did become dehydrated! I vomited from an allergy to liquid percocet (roxicet) over the weekend. I tried so hard to make up for what I lost but I couldn't. I didn't even realize I was dehydrated until I went into my dr's office on Monday and my heart rate was high (that is an indicator of dehydration). After 2 bags of i.v. fluid, I felt so much better. Just get in all the liquids you can each day to avoid dehydration. But if you suspect dehydration, go to your doctors office or hospital immediately. I now carry my water bottle around the house with me and on walks. Good luck Glad you are on the losing side Hugs, JENNA
