First day back to work!
And am I sore? YES! But it felt good to get back in the game. I got all of my work done and left 3 hours early, so I only worked 6 hours today. I'm so glad my surgery went smoothly and I was able to get back to life so quickly. My family was concerned that I would overdo it (I didn't - I came home once the soreness kicked in) but I knew that I would feel better once I started back to doing my normal everyday stuff. The hubby and kids are still helping with housework, which I won't argue too much with, and tonight I'm going to try cooking for them for the first time since surgery. I've had some head hunger, so hopefully this won't kill me!
Well, Dear Mrs G, it looks like you and I are definitely on the same schedule!!
It was my first day back to work too and it went very smoothly. My boss returns from his trip this evening and tomorrow will be his first day back. So I went in for about 5-1/2 hours and caught up with the emails, regular mails, etc. It actually felt very good to be back at my office It was funny, though, because the wife didn't expect me in today so she was very helpful and concern and promised to baby me for about 3 days then "you're on your own" she said
The weekend went by uneventfully--some groceries shopping and a couples of rides with DH and by yesterday evening, I was pretty cranky and grumpy about the liquids-only stage I can't take it anymore. Hopefully, tomorrow when I go for my first post-op check up my doc will add mushy stuff to my diet--I want to have some yogurt and jello already!! Wish me luck tomorrow...pray for me so my docs lets me eat some mush
I've been on a "head hunger" war since yesterday. I am making sure I stick to my doctors orders, "if it goes through the strainer, you can have it, just stay away from carbonated beverages." How are you doing with your liquid stage, what are you allowed to have?
Have a nice evening!
Dolly
I was taken to stage 3 the day I was discharged, I can only imagine how hard the liquid diet post-op is. I was told I had to manage a little bit of eggs and cream of wheat in order to be set loose from the hospital, I got in two itty bitty bites of egg and a couple tastes of the cream of wheat. My pouch is apparently made of steel, nothing has bothered me yet. (Although I'm not going to try anything I'm not allowed, just surpised nothing has disagreed with me so far.) I am wishing you lots of luck tomorrow!! That yogurt and jello will taste soooo good when you finally get it! Sugar free pudding is the bomb too, I just found out tonight, it's a nice treat! I only had an oz, but man did it make my day.
You'll be in my thoughts tomorrow, let me know what the doc says! I bet you're doing wonderfully!! I go Friday for my first check up.
