Surg date 8/11/05
It's getting closer! My approval and surg. date came so fast, I haven't had enough time to get jittery. I got my approval and the date this past week, so now have only 5 days to go! I work the next 4 nights, and all 12 hour shifts, so won't really have time to focus until Wednesday. I did go buy a HUGE container of protein powder today though:D
Wowie Marsha! they ain't giving you time to get nervous, eh? My month while waiting is going to be busy also. Have a dentist appointment Aug. 8th, Primary Care Dr appointment & Support Group Meeting Aug. 9th, Endoscopy (however it's spelled) on Aug. 11th, I start school on Aug. 15th, have pre-admission junk on Aug. 22, then surgery Aug. 30th! Maybe staying busy helps to make us less nervous. Maybe this is a good thing. I am not scared of complications or anything, but I do sometimes start getting scared when I think of how things will be when I wake up. My nurse is HILARIOUS! She explained that some people have something sort of like Post Pardum Depression after surgery, because while in the hospital you have all these people around you saying "eww-ahhh", "oh this is so wonderful", "we are SO estatic for you", etc. But, then you get home and you are like sitting there with this little stomach and everybody is gone, and it can be aggrivating (then the nurse made a pouty face, it was SO funny). I am excited for all of us! We will all be able to walk one day without breaking a sweat, among other things. Talk to ya soon! Amanda
Congrats! My surgery is the 11th also! I've known since the end of June. My surgeon was on vacation in July, otherwise I would've had a July date. So, I had about 6 weeks to stew. I've run the gamut of emotions and now that it's down to the nitty-gritty, I'm ready to be done with it! I still have a few things left to finish up this week, but other than that I am ready to go. I can hardly believe it!!!
I wish you the best on your surgery, with a speedy recovery. Tina
