:-@ Dang Insurance.. I got approved and then denied
OK.. I have triwest prime. Miilitary insurance. Anywho it took forever to get approved.. I mean everything had to be right. Well the doctor that I got approved for is a non network doctor.. (they usually dont use him) well triwest said that if there isnt a network doctor within a 50 mile radius then I could pick any doctor I want.. So I did ... well they approved him at the end of june. Well I finally got my sugery date Aug 29th.... well friday night I checked my mail and had a denial letter for the same doctor that they approved at the end of june... so I have to call them mon morning to see whats up.. I am really nervous and kinda upset .. so If you all pray please pay that they made a mistake and that I am approved... I am keeping my fingers crossed.

Hi, Melissa!
I'm in a very similar situation. My surgery date is also August 29. On July 18, I received a call from the surgeon's office that I was approved, conditional on insurance receiving clearance from pulmonary and cardiac docs. I knew that wasn't a problem - had already had both evaluations and knew the doctors were clearing me. Then last Thursday, I received a letter saying I was denied. It was dated the same day they told the surgeon I was approved as long as I got the two clearances!!! Check the date on your letter - it wouldn't surprise me if it was the same day they told you your surgeon was okay. Anyway, as of tonight (went to pre-surgery seminar), the surgeon's nurse told me they asked for clearance from the Anesthesiologist, since I have sleep apnea, and she has received that and will fax it tomorrow. She said she thinks that will be the last thing, but I don't feel 100% confident that they won't come up with something else! Seems like everytime they ask for something and get it, they just ask for something else.
Can I just say I HATE insurance companies?
