Hi Melannie, I think my nerves have just kicked in full force. I will keep you in mind and say a prayer for both of us. I know I will need a penpal that shares my date, not to compare but to for advice and to vent. I am sure it will happen and I like to be prepared. It is so hard for me to imagine what my life is going to be like soon but I cant wait. The 10th will be here soon for the both of us. Rose

Hi There! I'm having my long awaited surgery Aug 12th. A few days after I received the miraculous approval letter from my insurance company, my husband was laid off and his insurance ended. That is NOT stopping me though! I've already overnighted a cobra payment (supplemental insurance, same kind you had you just have to pay up the ying yang for it) and by tomorrow I should be showing as active again. Imagine! getting an approval letter and a few days later, loosing your insurance! But.... I'm not going to let this get me down. I WILL be having my surgery ON TIME lol. If I have to go into that surgery room myself and push someone else off the operating table, I WILL be having my surgery HAHAHAH. With that said.....I'm cross between SO excited that my dream might actually come true and I might have the chance to live a healthier life. Doubled with all the other stressors in my life right now, and some pretty big ones. I'm at peace though... yeah right lol I'm also still wide awake at 2am TOO! Ahhhhh I can't wait till this is all over and I can claim a couple of weeks of "down time" not to only physicly heal, but mentally heal from all of this as well

Hi Tami, The news that you were approved is wonderful. You seem so strong. I think though after waiting so long for approval I would send in cobra payment as fast as I could too!. I hope all goes well with you and your husband. I truly believe all things happen for a reason and in the end everything works out for the best. I am also looking foward to the down time since right now I am on overdrive to get everything done that I can think of. In you case .....As for pushing the person off the person on the operating table, I would do it too.....LOL. ( I wouldnt hurt them though) My thoughts are with you for a speedy recovery! Rose

My surgery is August 11th and I echo what everyone else has said! I am ready for surgery, but not a moment goes by without thinking about it. I even find myself waking up in the middle of the night thinking about it! (I guess I should be grateful that I'm able to get SOME sleep.) I think it will get worse (my nerves, that is) before it gets better. Good luck on your surgery! Tina

Hi Christina, Congrats! From all the responses the nerves seem to be a big thing. I guess it is normal. For a while, I thought it was just me. My nerves are those of sheer excitement. I am not worried in the least. I know I will do just fine. i am a mother of 5 so I look foward from the break in the hospital for a few days. As for sleep...........What's That...I haven't had much since i heard the news. Rose
