November & GYM IS OPEN!!!!!!!!!!

Okay!! Everyone!! I posted late last week-for week 1 and some of you missed it- SO!! HOW IS EVERYONE DOING SO FAR?? Anyone want to take the "increase your protein" challenge with me this week? WE need to get that in.. I discovered why.. Initially we were "under" protein because we were overfat, okay that we all understand. We all began with a min of say 40-60gms protein daily... However-as we developed and got leaner- we also had our muscles get stronger- so unless we do 60-80gms or more protein daily- we will lose our new muscle and it will be replaced by fat in our BMI..or you could exercise a little more everyday- keep your muscles toned- but you still need the Protein- why? because your body will break down your hard earned muscles for its protein- and your BMI will start to climb.. So In theory- the leaner or THINNER you are - the HIGHER is your protein requirement!! I just figured this out this weekend! SO! I hit the gym saturday and sunday, hard and tough. Last Sunday I weighed 210. I swear I weighed 212 one day during the week I dunno how. Anyway, I'm happy to report- I lost 3.5lbs and am now 206.5 and had a chocolate free week! My goal is to be under 200 by 12/7 when I return to my surgeon for final exam. Funny thing- I began using gloves with handweights in them- when I box- try doing that for like 40mins!! No wonder the guys aren't friendly to me! LOL..But yesterday- I tried the precor stairmaster- listening to my MP3s, at level 15 - and noticed I can add small uppercuts and jabs as I move..I was having so much fun with this aspect- and realizing I could do this for like 22 mins - yeah I was sweating- I gave up my sauna time just to continue enjoying the workout.. I got locked into what I was doing and everything else didn't matter - this is what Im talking about. When you realize how great it is- and you accomplished something- its a great WOW moment..it makes you wanna keep doing it.. and that is what I hope everyone discovers for themselves.. the joy of improvement- its an inner journey. hugs Donna 325/206.5/ goal 30% BMI

I'm working with you girl! Still exercising every day at least 30 mins. Trying to exercise 2x a day at least 3 days a week. On weekends up the time to 60 minutes sessions. Pretty much keeping on track. My weight is waffling around from 183 to 179 to 182 to 181.5 to 183 again. What the heck! I don't weigh every day but for the times I do it has been all over the board. I have been exercising so consistently now, it is a habit. Thank goodness because I need that habit. When I don't do something to sweat during the day, I feel like something is missing. Another good thing! I don't go to the gym because I really haven't found one I like. (I think I'm too cheap) Plus it's so easy to do exercise tapes and no excuses when working out at home. But I do need to up my weight training and can only do that at a gym. So after the 1st of the year when they have all the special, I might look into joining one. Keep going. Take care Pam
