TGI Friday & THE GYM!!

HIYA!!! I was gonna post this earlie in the week r- but thought I'd give a chance to see how everyone DID and see if our planning was good- or fell apart- like mine. I count the week beginning with Sunday- so this week is 10/29-11/4..You still have time to get any exercise in- before weeks end. SO how did everyone do Diet wise / Exercise wise? AND I wanna hear from EVERYONE who signed into my first post- and if anyone wants to jump on- you are highly ENCOURAGED to do so..THAT MEANS U!! If you need . We will always struggle- but its easier when shared. Here's what happened to me: Sat Night my 21 yr old son, informed me,he has his ticket and is moving to Illinois, 11/7. We haven't been fighting- but its been stressful and I've been trying to redirect and refocus. He is moving there to live with a girl's family- long story short- he met her on the internet 3 yrs ago- they've been friends-he visited her twice(this summer included) they are both 21/22 and she is diabetic, doesn't work & HE is going there to begin working as an EMT. He has to be relicensed in that state..meanwhile he has like $300in his pocket..& all this before the holidays.. SO Needless to say- I have been trying to stick to my plan..Fluids, protein and I snuck in some chocolate and did not dump..although I did feel some elevated symptoms..I go back to my surgeon 12/7- for my final checkup and then every 3 mos after that..and I GAINED 1lb this week.. As for the GYM: I went Sunday 10/29, worked out 3 hrs. I did go last night- from 7:30 for 1.5hrs, and I will be hitting the gym tonight and sat/sunday.. I am trying to get back into a routine of showing up and not worrying so much what my workout will be- as I have been increasing my weights and focusing on my core- back/abs, hips & lower body. Im also going to up my protein intake again- and see where that leaves me. Anyone up for the increasing your protein challenge? WAKE UP!! Talking to you!! Everyone - have a great weekend!! Hi Donna, Sorry about the issues with your son, but GREAT job redirecting to the gym! One pound could be just about anything but a fat gain, so just keep it up. FYI - no exercise this week, but better on food - sorta - and I managed to lose 2 lbs so I'm content. Still maintaining in my window. I'm actually down south visiting family and friends for one of my step-nephew's wedding. Dawn

You are such a breath of fresh air Donna! You crack me up too! I didn't do any exercising this last week. I haven't done any exercising in over a month. I know, badddd Lori! I am thinking seriously about joining a gym. My treat to myself for coming so far on this journey! And with the weather getting bad here, they are expecting 9 inches of rain in the next 24 hours! , I can't get out and walk like I was this summer. Now I just have to find a gym that I like and that doesn't charge me an arm and a leg! Thanks for posting this. I have eaten ENTIRELY too much Halloween candy! And too may carbs lately too. I need to get back on the protein train NOW! Lori

Hi Lori- you know- you don't appreciate what you have- until you don't have it anymore!! What am I talking about? The minute you start regaining weight or feel bad- you are going to return to some bad habits and gain weight..we both know that. Remember how hard it was to get where you are? Well if you want to stay wearing those size 6 jeans- you are going to have to do something about it.. even if its 30mins a day- just make the time for you- CHALLENGE YOURSELF to make 30mins.. go to the mall and windowshop for 30mins with a headset on... but get going for 30 mins.. thats all u need to begin.. Do you remember how hard it was trying to get under 200? getting under 150? Just because you are complacent, don't let that distract you from feeling good everyday! I try to stress this a lot- its not about being a number- the physical exercise loads you with endorphins- and those are natural "feel good" chemicals..it counteracts depression naturally - anyway- tell yourself- you are going to take time and spend 30mins with just you- and make the date. Do it a few times and let me know how you do.. I don't want to see you unhappy or feel bad if you gain weight. Convince the mind and the body will follow.. I WISH I had a size 10/12 body..I can't imagine my body being that much smaller- like your size..although I did notice- since I've started this new routine- my bodyshape is different.. and I lost 3 lbs I weighed 206.5 on Sunday (weigh myself sundays) and from Halloween '05 to 10/31/ 06- I chucked 46ins off my body!! Did you measure? Don't take those feelings for granted.. be happy where you are- but continue to keep yourself challenged..you evolve as you grow and fitness is mental. So get out and appreciate who you are and how much you have accomplished and don't take yourself for granted.. and a lot.. it looks good on you with those earrings! Hugs Donna
