Checking In
I have not posted in such a long time. I was wandering how everyone is doing?
So......
Is anyone still losing weight? If so, at what pace? Is it a struggle?
How much weight has everyone lost? What size are you down to?
As for me...
WEIGHT
The day of surgery: 276
Current: 160-163
SIZE
The day of surgery: 24-26
Current: 10
MY GOAL: 140 (only 20 pounds away)
I am scheduling a plastics consult as soon as I get to 150 or 155. The flab on my tummy has to weigh at least 15 pounds!! Somewhere under there I am a size 5 ready to blossom!
Anyway, I have not weighed 160 since I had my first son ten years ago. My husband can't keep his hands off of me and I get so many compliments. However, better than that... I feel so much better. I can't even put it into words. I feel like I can accomplish anything.
I am still losing weight. However, I really have to discipline myself with the foods and the amount that I eat. I had been grazing on junk food and my appetite had been OUT OF CONTROL.
Anyway, I have lost ten pounds in the past few weeks after gaining close to 8 pounds!!!. Can we say scary? It was definitely wake up time for this ole' gal.
I have had to cut out all of the bad carbs and kick the exercising back up into high gear. I do not want to gain this weight back. I realize that unless I really change my lifestyle, I run the risk of gaining once again. I have known this all along. However, it became real to me.

Hey Sherry,
You've done great and thanks for the reminder to get back on track. I've been struggling this past 2 weeks with up and down and then a gain of 4 pounds in 2 days. Like you said, "SCARY!!"
I have about 40 pounds to go to goal and have been a slow looser from the git go. I also had a terrible after program with my surgeon. It is non-existent and I have had to try and figure out on my own what works for me; cause his way of things don't work for me. I've kicked excerise into high gear and I have gained instead of loosing, but my clothes fit much better. Things that were a little tight, are now perfect and things that were perfect are getting loose. My closet is getting tired looking because I have so little clothes to wear and no money to get new ones...isn't that the sadest story you've ever heard.
Well, good luck on your PS consult and as you continue your journey!

Hello Ms. Sherry!!! Good to hear from you!
I feel like you are telling my story. Lately, my appetite has been way bigger. I find myself wanting to eat every couple of hours or less! I try and pick the best possible things but don't always make the right choices. And my scale had told me that I needed to do something else. I had been stagnet at 163 lbs for probably close to 2 months. Maybe not that long but it sure felt like it. This morning I weighed in at 158! But I doubt I will stay there long. Seems like I keep gaining and losing the same 5 lbs. I did up my water intake and have tried to keep my snacking down lately. Hopefully something will kickstart this weightloss.
I have a plastics consult next month. I wanted to be down to 150 before I did it but doesn't look like I will make that by Nov 9th. Not unless a miracle happens!
I do need to get my arse back out walking or something. I have been so lazy about that. I did do a yoga ab workout and and arm workout on Saturday morning. I felt it for days! I need to do that more often!
Anyhoo... take care and keep in touch!
Lori
PS I started out at 281lbs, wearing a size 22-24 tight. I now weigh 158 and wear anywhere from a size 6 Levis, stretch of course to a 10.
Hi Sherry
Great to hear from you. I totally agree with you. It's all about choices now. I find myself slipping every now & again, but for the most part I stick to the plan. I've been so busy that the exercise is slacking. Soccer is almost done & things will hopefully calm down a little bit. I know, I am always the first one to say....MAKE TIME FOR YOURSELF...& look at me now. Running myself ragged. The overtime for work has increased, but love the money. We're going to Wisconsin in a few weeks to visit my husbands family so the overtime is contributing well. Weight wise
Hi Sherry,
Good to hear from ya! I'd like to be able to schedule plastic, but that's not in my budget and I doubt I'd qualify for any of it to be covered by insurance. Oh well, I may win the lottery or Publisher's Clearing House someday.
I hit goal back in May (135) and have been flucuating between 129-137 since. I stayed about 140 for a couple of weeks, so spent a week back at basics and lost 7 lbs! So are so right about the extra hunger, junk fooditis. It's the back to reality. I actually made it out exercising 3 times this week - the first time in 2 months (school started back up - I'm a teacher - and I got out of the daily activity). Feels good.
