Hi All, I wrote a while back about pain I was haveing. It was around June. I had tests galore they told me I would have to have exploritory surgery and it scared me so I never went to the doctor for my one year appt or nothing. Pain went away so I asumed it was GAS. Well the doctors office just called me and they miss placed my ultra sound test which confirmed gallstones. So I have to have my gallbladder removed in the next few weeks. Hopefully I will only miss two days of work. Can you beleive they lost my results from one of the tests for over 2 months? Diana 263/155/145

Diana, Any way they could work in a tummy tuck while they are removing the gallbladder? At least you would already have the anesthetic paid for. I would talk to the surgeon who is going to do the gallbladder and see if you could work a deal to get the tummy tuck done while he already has you out! May be something to consider and work towards. The other thing you could do is see if the surgeon will say that you need to tummy tuck in order for him to do the work he needs to do.... excess skin gets in the way type of thing. (I am assuming that you will be wanting to get a tummy tuck done!) Don't know if you don't ask... looks like a golden opportunity to me. Eileen 337/201/160-170?

Eileen, I am going to see if they wont cover a Tummy Tuck. I know they do such things for Hernias. I am leaving for Vegas for a week but next week when I go to the doctors I will mention that and let you know what he says. Diana

Diana, Glad to hear that it's only gallstones. Would have sucked if you did exploratory surgery for nothing. I've been having issues with, what I believe, is my gallbladder also. When I saw my pcp last week he told me to wait & see if I continue to have problems to call him & he'll order an ultrasound. Well, I think I had another attack over the weekend. Yippee. It's not uncommon & luckily it can be done laproscopic. At any rate, good luck & keep us posted ok? Tammy

Hi ! I can't believe they didnt give you that test prior to your buypass surgery..My doctor made sure I had every test- and sure enough they discovered stones before buypass and took it out with the buypass- and never had a problem.. If i were you Diana- I would give yourself more than 2 days out- I don't want to scare you or anything- but the pain may be similar to the buypass..my surgeon told me taking the gall bladder out after buypass is harder to do- and thats why he did them both at the same time..take more time- and if you dont need it- you are covered.. its still major surgery and anesthesia. wish you the best Donna

Diana, I'm so sorry! But I can relate! 10 weeks after my bypass, I had my appendix out!. 2 days isn't realistic. I had mine out several years ago, laproscopic and was off 3 weeks. You might make it back in weeks, but don't think you can do 2 days. Email me when you get your surgery date, let me know when and where. If there's anything I can do, just let me know. We really need to get together, it's rather silly not to, as close as we are! Take Care! Michele T
