I am thinking of joining Curves. Does anyone have any experience with them? What do you think of Curves? Would you join again if you had the chance? Any special deals I should know about? Any information would be appreciated. Thanks, Eileen 337/201/160-170ish?

Hi Eileen, I was a member of Curves for a year. I really liked it but I have to tell you, it got realllly boring after a while. You get tired of doing the same thing over and over and over. I did lose inches though.....12 to be exact. I didn't lose a bunch of weight but the inches did go. That was before surgery. I almost joined up again after surgery but decided to walk outside instead. When winter hits, I may decide to do something different. Maybe join a local gym that has more to do than just the Curves circuit. But...that being said, for a beginner in the exercise arena, Curves is an awesome place to start!! ANYONE can do it, no matter what age or what kind of shape you are in. It's very easy and quick. Who doesn't have 30 min to dedicate to themselves 3 times a week? Lori

I was a member of curves and my WLS doctor told me I needed a more agressive workout. Curves is good when your just starting but as you get into exercise it is limited. Now my mom who is 70 works out at curves and it is really good for her to do some kind of movement. I guess it depends what you want to get out of exercise. I myself belong to a gym and I weight lift, spin, and I run 2 to 3 miles at the local school tracks. Diana

Hello Eileen, I also am a member of Curve's and I agree with everyone. I love going, the people are great and I have a ton of fun there, but its getting boring. I havent seen any results, but I guess with as much weight as we all loose the only way to see real changes is with plastics. Anyway, it is a great place to start. Good luck. Pam 314/130

Thanks everyone for answering. I appreciate your candidness. Guess I will continue walking and start a jazzercise class. While I am doing that, I will look for a regular gym in the area. Golds Gym is not far away and it is a fairly big one. We are going to be moving in April, so I may have to see what is transportable to another area here in Va Beach. If I have to travel far to work out, I can see me not doing it. Thanks again! I do appreciate having somewhere to come to ask questions and get opinions of people who are in this boat with me! Eileen
