What happened to us????????
Hi
One year and not where we wanted to be. My husband (Solar) had surgery 3rd of August 2005 and got down 58 pounds. From 294 to 236. Today he weighted 239, he bounces between 236 and 240 for the last 3-4 months. Me, my surgery was on the 26th of August 2005 and got down 85 pounds. From 307 to 222. I weight 223 today. I can say that I feel like a new person and am very thankful for my new lease on life, but I expected more. Next week we see our doc for the 1 year check up. We will go from there and see what happens.

Hi- Nice to see new postings on the board- welcome.
I looked at your profile- and first want to say that both you and your husband look amazing and great..
Second- everyone's journey is different. We all do not have the same outcomes- as you will notice- if you scroll back and read some postings this past week or two. What works for one- does not work the same for another- plus there is hereditary to keep in mind.
Third- I didn't read that you have been exercising or doing anything to workout. Exercise and fitness plays a vital role in this weight loss. As we age- our metabolism slows down- old news- but we need to increase it- or add weight training- if we want our metabolism stoking the fat burning furnace..to keep losing weight.
Fourth- I would take a look at your nutrition. Sometimes its easy to fall into a rut and keep eating the same foods and doing the same things- your body adjusts- so you just have to shake it up sometimes.. I did that last week- and didn't exercise for 3 days-
I had other things keeping me busy- and today- I am down 6lbs since last Sunday.
I sure was surprised- and if you ask me- I wasn'****ching everything I ate- but it all worked out..
I hope that helps you..and you might also want to post on Grads Board- because they are all 1yrs plus post op- they are friendly and give great advice as well.
Good luck and keep working on it- do not give up. Return to square one ( I do it from time to time) and focus on protein (60gms) first. Try increasing your protein everyday for 2 weeks and see if that changes anything for you.
Wish you all the best
