Check up yesterday with surgeon

Wow! I was nervous. Really nervous. Not only have I only dropped a few lbs in the 6 months since I last saw him, I was retaining water yesterday (3 lbs of it!). Even at that, he was very happy, said as far as he was concerned, I might want to drop 5 or 10 lbs so I have a little room to bounce up and down, but other than that, he felt like I was doing great and was right where my body wanted me to be. Well, I dropped 3 of those lbs this morning since I lost tha****er weight! I'm still shooting for his original goal of 163 for me, but I feel a TON better about myself now and how far I've come. It just felt good to hear my surgeon say that. I don't go back for a full year to see him. -Rant on- Lori Cullember, girl you were on my mind SO much yesterday! It hurts my heart that your surgeon is such a horses arse to you. Just know that we all love you and are VERY proud of you! The hell with what that moron says! It's all about his 'stats' - not how wonderful you've done or how hard you're working. He's just worried about the numbers he can brag about, and if you'd lost more he'd be boasting bigger numbers. That's insane - what matters is not only those stupid numbers, but how you FEEL, both inside and out. I'm no where near a normal BMI, but I feel good, I think I'm looking purdy good, and I'm healthy. If I never lose more than the 5 to 10 lbs my surgeon suggested for my 'bounce around room', I'll still be thrilled. I truely hope you never go back to see that jerk again, you deserve so much more. Thanks so much for the encouragement, Mrs G!! It really helps to know you all are on my side and think I've done marvelously. I have decided not to go back to see him and will cancel my appointment later this month. My sister says, "Just fire the jerk!" and she is right. Well, again, I appreciate your encouragement and hope that I have been an ecouragement to our other August buddies at times as well. That is why I come to this message board the most.
