Plastic Surgery Anyone

It's been a year, or almost a year, for all of us. Is any one else research plastic surgery? I just took some new pics as I was heading to a party. I was wearing a sexy little bra halter dress for Victoria's Secret, size L. I got so bummed looking at the pics. You could see the rolls of skin on my upper arms. Even worse, loose skin hanging from my thighs over my knees. Ick. At 18 months, I'm going in for a consult. I don't know if it's lucky or not, but I have a hernia that doesn't bother me. It should be my tummy tuck cover however. Hopefully I get my arms done at the same time. I was looking at a breast lift until I found out how they did it. I thought the RNY was scary. So, are you looking at PS? What type? Thoughts? Cheers, Torrey (281/186/160)

Hi Torrey, Yes, I will definitly be going for PS. I hate, hate, hate my arms. They have always been huge and now they just hang grossly and swing in the wind. Kids love this new play toy for them. A plastic surgeon at a support group meeting I went to back in June said it is one of the hardest surgeries to do, but I don't care. These batwings must go. I also want to do a lower body lift and what ever portion my insurance won't cover, I'll do through an equity loan or something. I'm not too worried about my breasts. They do droop alot, but with a great bra the girls are fine. Although I may change my mind if I ever start dating and get serious about someone. I may not like what I see in the mirror when I'm naked and wouldn't want to shock the life out of him. Anyway, the doctor I saw at the support group meeting was so nice. I wish he was in my area. He is from Tampa and I live in Cocoa Beach area. That's a 3 to 4 hour trip one way. I thought my surgery for RNY was far. But that is farther. I know that I have to wait another 6 to 12 months though and that's okay for now. I don't have enough funds saved up yet anyway with buying my new house. So I am back to the drawing board for getting this surgery funding together. Great question to ponder for now, thanks for asking it. Lori 293/197/150

Thanks for your reply Lori. Waiting is so freaking hard. I want to look like I feel, but sagging skin is just a downer. Oh well, I waited over 3 years to get RNY approved, I can wait for PS. Cheers, Torrey (281/186/160)

I know how you feel about the arms!! Every time I drink I contemplate cutting them off myself! I've always had huge arms though and have always hated them, but atleast now they are mostly skin! I also have more skin than I thought I would around my abdominal area and I'm shocked at my thighs! My boobs look about 3 times my age now, too... lol, So yes, I'm also planning on plastic surgery in the (hopefully) near future. I am hoping for the full body lift. Clarissa 346/199/150

i've lost 84 pounds and i'm pretty much done losing. i don't have lots of hanging skin. yes, i could definitely use a butt lift, but not going there! lol next week i'm having hernia repair and the dr. said he will do some muscle tightening, so hopefully that will flatten my tummy out a bit. the worst "offenders" are my boobs and i definitely want to have them done - soon! i've been having consults for BA/BL. might shoot for mid sept-oct to have them done. good luck to you! Both the surgeons I talked to about RNY said I had one, then my GP confirmed it. It's very small and doesn't bother me. Cheers, Torrey

I have already gone for a consultation for PS. The doctor wanted 19,000.00 for the tummy tuck and a breast reduction/lift. He wont even try to get it covered under insurance and that is not including the Surgery Center fees and dugs and garment and all that other stuff. I want to see this other PS doctor I figure I will have it done in a year or so. I also would like to know how you know you had a hernia? They have been running tests on me and can't tell me what my problem is except I feel a bulge on one side of my abs. They wanted to do exploritory surgery and I don't want to. I would like the arms done but don't know if I like that big scar. Scar or flab?? Not really sure on that one. I am working out hard spinning, running , and weight lifting and trying to work up to spinning 4 times per week. It really kicks my Butt. Maybe I can define some of the areas so they don't look as bad and live with them. I would love to look 20 again but I need to face it that I am 45 and with all the ps I wont be 20 again. I think I am getting in better shape then I was when I was twenty so thats pretty cool. Diana
