So i am curious. How much chicken, beef, veges can you, or are you eating at this stage in the game. I have noticed that somedays i can eat a lot, and others not so much. But i am really concerned about how much i can eat. Like of chicken or something. Yesterday i had a HUGE Steak salad from Qdoba (I did not eat the shell). I was amazed that i ate as much as i did, and did not get "full" before i did. It really worries me. I also can eat almost a whole chicken breast. Is anyone else eating this much? Or just how much are you eating? Thanks, Danette

Hello Danette, I will be 11 months post op on the 29th. and I also can eat a large amount. Infact.. we are low on groceries today and I opened a 15 oz can of corn.. my plan was just a few bites..but my sister called and paying attention... I wasnt....in the middle of the conversation I realized I had eaten the entire can in about 10 min. Chicken I could eat a whole breast too. I do not normally eat canned veggies like that. As I said.. grocery day is fast approaching lol. I have stalled greatly in my weightloss.. However, I have noticed I am losing in inches..I just bought a pair of 16 shorts.. And on the way to the corner store.. they nearly fell off my butt.. I was so embarrassed lol. I did call my surgeon and he told me that he is not at all concerned with the amounts I can eat. I just have to be cautious of WHAT I eat.. Protein first always.. then if room some veggies or fruit.. I try to limit my carbs to once a day. I can eat almost anything I want.. It was unnerving for me at first at how much I can eat.. but thinking back to pre-surgery.. It is still FAR less. Good luck! Love Kimberly

I can eat almost any thing I want, and I tend to over eat @ times! Potion size is different daily, hourly....depends! But I do think it is less than before the surgery!

As time goes on, I am eating more then when the journey first began. I still eat 2 cheese sticks in the morning for breakfast or about 1/2 c of cottage cheese. They are fast and on the way to work it is the easiest thing for me. I have some nuts around 10:30 a.m. for snack or 1/2 a protein bar. Lunch is usually something leftover from the weekend resteruant or the protein portion of a healthy choice or lean cusine meal and some of the veggies. Dinner is usually most of a chicken breast (skinless and boneless), I still can't eat the entire thing and I add two to three bites of veggie and 2 bites of stratch (mashed tatos, mac & cheese or rice), then I hit the runny nose part of my life. I have found that this is the truest form of letting me know when I am full. If you didn't know this and it happens to you (a runny nose), stop eating. I read a while back on Tooter's site that when your nose starts to run, it is a sign that you are full or have had enough to statisfy your hunger. Eating beyond that point is overdoing it. I will admit that when the food tastes really good to me, I will still eat 1 or 2 bites more when I reach this point now. I know it is pushing the envelope, but I still love the flavor of some foods. I can say that I don't crave mashed potatoes anymore and 2 bites are usually enough to satisfy my comfort food feeling...but some proteins and especially salads these days or crunchy veggies make me go over my limit at times. I usually pay for it when I push too far though. So, I am learning to stop and really mean to stop at the first sign of that drippy nose. If I go until I "feel" full, I will be sick for sure! On the losing track again! Lori 293/198.5/135

I can eat more, but still nothing near what I was able to eat before surgery. I can eat a small chicken breast or almost all of a Lean Cuisine. If I start snacking, that's when I really eat too much. Spread over time, nothing is safe. Torrey (281/187/160)

I too have found that I am eating more now than I did when this journey began. Some of the meats I eat, are still small portions - seems to depend on how 'dry' they are. For example, chicken breast that is broiled or grilled but is kind of dry, I can only get about 1/2 to 3/4 down. But if it is chicken salad (mixed with lo-fat mayo) I can eat a full chicken breast on a good day. 1/2 pound of shrimp (pre cooked weight with shell on) goes down ok, but nothing else. Rare, juicy steak is about 4 or 5 ounces. Got to say though, that I can really do myself some damage if I snack too much. Get in way too many calories and do not necessarily ever really feel full. My average week day goes this way: B - Protein drink mixed with my morning coffee MS - nuts and/or 100 cal cookie pack L - Chili with cheese from Wendy's S - Tablespoon P-nut butter D - Chicken or shrimp or steak, taste of veggie/salad ES - Taste of fruit I also do lots of drinking getting at least 64 oz in before dinner and usually getting between 12 and 24 more oz during the evening. Eating too much probably. Eileen 337/209/170ish
