I have returned...
Hey everyone! I have been on vacation since Wednesday so I haven't been around to post. But I am back now!
I had my 9-month check up last Wed. It went well. My surgeon is pleased with my progress. I weighed in at 180.6lbs! So, I managed to keep those pesky 1-2 lbs off and had lost 100.4lbs as of that day! I was sooo thankful! Guess all tha****er loading and walking paid off!
Currently, as of this morning, I weigh 176lbs! For some reason the lbs are coming off again! I find that the last week or so I have to remember to eat. I just haven't been hungry. And when I do eat, I feel nauseaous. Don't know what that is all about. But I will take the weightloss! I don't know if I want to keep my goal of 140 or not. I don't think I need to lose another 36lbs at this point. I am thinking I might try for 150 and see how I feel. I was very comfortable at that weight before so we will see I guess. So that means 26lbs to goal! Wow that feels weird to say!
Anyhoo.. I am off work today but wanted to stop in and let you know how things went at my appt.
Take care and talk to ya all tomorrow!

26lbs to first goal! whooo hooo!
Lori,
Congratulations on a wonerful check up. 176 WOW .... you're doing AWESOME... See that found you again...
It's funny you say that about rethinking your goal. When I first picked a goal weight, it was strictly based on a "normal" BMI... 145 lbs puts me at the highest end of the normal for my height of 5'4". I've really been looking at that number more & more lately. Especially since learning alot more at the conference. I think after this surgery we can NO LONGER be put in the same category as non-surgical patients (ie: a normal bmi for non surgical patients vs. a normal bmi for surgical patients)..... I was told, at the conference, that the reason we look smaller & wear smaller clothes at the weights we are now is because we are mostly muscle now. I truly believe this...I NEVER wore a 14 or 16 at this weight before. My surgeon told me at my last visit that my weight loss should level off at a 110 - 120 lb loss from my surgery. Which would put me at 164-174...(not far from where I'm at ).... The only true way to tell what our body composition is...is the hydrostatic weighing... Being weighed in the water like how they do it on The biggest Loser. I'd really like to find some place around here that does that. Think it would be interesting to see how that comes out compared to the BMI calculator.
At any rate, I say go for whatever makes you comfortable. Heck, I'm so happy where I'm at right now...anything more is a bonus...
Take Care
Tam
Thanks Tammy!
Yeah the more I think about my goal weight the more I think 150 would be better. But when I get to 150 I might change my mind.
I, too, would be happy to stay where I am at if that is what my body wants. I look and feel better than I have in years!
I did get walking in yesterday. My daughter and I walked 2 miles after dinner last night. It was nice to get a chat in with her.
I weighed in at 175 this morning. I can't believe how I am losing again. After going 2 months with no loss really, this feels fantastic! I think it's because I have started back on my walking. And I haven't been eating alot. Just not hungry like I was a week ago. Seemed like that 8-9th month I was starving!! Maybe that is normal?? Who knows... I will take the losses though!
Take care sweetie,
Lori

Hi Lori,
Welcome back CONGRATS on the Century Club. . I hope vacation was fun. I've been having the issues with eating and not feeling good afterwards - lots of cramping. Don't have any idea what's causing it either. Oh well. You obviously can set any goal you'd like and if you were happy at 150 before go for it. But.... to pass along an analogy for you that our program director gave us. Let's say you decided to go visit Portland, Oregon, a place you've never been, to see the parks and roses. Along the way you stop in Olympia. Very pretty, by the water, green. You decide it's a pretty nice place so you stop and stay in Olympia. Not a bad decision, BUT, you don't know what you may have missed by continuing to Portland. If you had decided to continue to Portland, saw what it had to offer, then you could decide to either stay there, or go back to Olympia.
