Topic: RE: Considering a revision ... I have failed my tool..
I had the bypass 8/2004 when I was at 268. When I leveled I was 165.5. In the last year for unexplained reasoning I have gone back up to 206. I did the barium upper GI test, pouch is normal, all types of blood work (normal) and have no idea why I am gaining. This is very depressing and so drastic that I am down on myself so much that I have brought it into my marriage. I went to see a surgeon for the stoma revision and that's out because my stoma is fine. Plus the revision is more dramatic and severe the the original bypass surgery to only come out with a possible 20-25 pound weight loss. HELP with any advice etc.. Im at my wits end for what to do... Oh I walk 7.5 miles a day and eat very small meals/snacks 5-6 times a day... protein I get maybe 25-50 grams... anyone else out there like this????

Hi everyone... I had the bypass 8/2004 when I was at 268. When I leveled out I was 165.5. In the last year for unexplained reasoning I have gone back up to 206. Hi Angi!
Congratulations on your 170lb loss. That is fabulous! My 5 year anniversary date is 8/4. I can't believe it has been 5 years. So far I have been able to maintain my loss and overall am very happy with the surgery.
I'm sorry to hear you are still having health issues. I don't know what your symptoms are but hopefully you can get some answers and relief soon. I was diagnosed with Commom Variable Immune Deficiency in 1969. I have been receiving treatment for 40 years now. I get an infusion of intravenous gamma globulin every 3-4 weeks. I have pretty severe arthritis and am very susceptible to infections, but overall do pretty well. I wish you well and if you would like to chat, please email me.

Topic: Hi, everyone
I used to come into the chat as AngiS. I am just trying to reconnect with some friends.
I've lost 170 lbs. I plateaued for about a year, then they found that I was hypothyroid and after I started on the meds, I started losing again. So, I'm a 170 lbs down and still losing.
I am in a wheelchair for the most part now. I've had lots of health issues and so I am currently going to Duke University Medical Center to see if they can figure out what is wrong. Currently it is leaning toward an immune disorder.
Anyway, if there is anyone *****members me, drop me a line at [email protected].

Topic: RE: Hi ALL ! some issues.. WG, Anemic and such...
I had my surgery in December 2004. I am 5' tall. I got down to a well proportioned weight for my body. I remained at the same weight for several years. Early in 2007 I began seeing my doctor for not feeling well. I explained my symtoms of feeling tired all the time and inability to concentrate or sleep. I went to 5 different doctors over 2 yrs giving my symtoms with adding a few more symtoms and all would say that I was depressed and prescribe antidepressants. I would explain that I was not depressed and really had no issues I was just tired. In 2009, I found a doctor that really listened and did proper testing. I now have too many doctors and appointments but I found out that I am anemic, and receive IV Iron Infusions and I am hypoglycemic (low sugar). Go figure I was tired.
They began the iron infusions 3x the first week and 2x for 2wks and then 1x wk for the next few wks. My feriton level was at 6 which is your iron storage. That was pretty low. I have not had iron in 2 months now and I can feel the difference. I can guess that I need it again. When I receive the iron I am very tired that day. Sometimes when they are giving it to me I can't handle the lights in the room and I get real dizzy.
Once my iron levels started coming up I started getting better as in some of my strange symtoms that nobody could figure out started to go away such as, I have not had migrains, bad muscle cramps, or hot flashes. I am told it is unrelated but I can tell you I had these symptoms for over 2 yrs and since Iron they have gotten better.
On another note I have gained weight.
in 2006 I began to work out regularly and gained 5-7 pounds which I could not get rid of even after stopping the exercise routine. I have gone on and off the exercisie routine. Most times it was due to being so tired I could not keep it up or I was in terrible pain. I began the iron in April 09 it is now July and I have exercised once or twice in this time period. My ribs hurt often. More than hurt they cause terrible pain and I now have a burn in my stomache as well as the tiredness. I am not near as tired as I used to be and with iron was able to get some clarity and focus. I have gained almost 10 more pounds since the iron. I am wondering if it has anything to do with it. I must admit my appetite has increased incredibly.
Has anyone here experienced this tiredness and what have you done for it. Also the rib pain, I am told it could be scar tissue. Is there a cure? I would also take suggestions on weight gain.
Thanks a bunch for listening.

Topic: RE: HI EVERYONE
FYI: the TT scar goes across your entire front pelvis region, right below your panty line, right where your pubic region starts. Like I mentioned, the scar does get smoother, and less noticeable with time, but you can still see it and know it's there. Depending on what type of panties or pants you wear, you just have to be conscious of it not going too low, or else can see it from the sides. I don't mean to say DON'T get it because of the scar, but it's definitely something to remember and to consider since it's something I had to get used to after the whole procedure. I knew of the scar, but it's a CON to weigh when thinking about TT. Also, keep in mind the complications. I had some fluid retention after my surgery, and had bad bloating because of it, as well as the bellybutton sealing up. My surgeon had to go back after the original wound had healed in order to reopen the b-button and revise the original wound. It wasn't a bad recovery, just can be tiring. Would I do it over again? hmmm.....yeah, I think so.
