Topic: Last Question before the big month!
Hello everyone, it is the day before the anniversary month. I would like to ask one last question before the big month for all of us. What was happening to you on the day before the surgery? What was your last good meal? What was going through your mind? What did you do that day? I would like to give mine. My surgery was on August 31. 2 days before the surgery I had my last big meal. I ate a Junior cheeseburger with small fries and a small coke. I had wished I had ate a 4x4 cheeseburger with a monster fries and king size coke. I couldn't eat it because I had not lost the amount of weight the doctor had asked me in order to have the surgery. So the day before I just had a lite meal. I had to be in the hospital at 5 A.M. I never told my kids about the surgery. That night I just helped them with their homework, watched a little TV with them, and put them to bed. I gave them a big hug and kiss before I turned off the light in their rooms. Next morning I woke up at 4 AM, got dressed and left to hospital with my cousin. I wasn't afraid, because it was true that I could have died from the surgery, but I would be dead from my obesity. I kept the 5xl shirt and 50 inch pants that I took to the surgery. They are my personal trophies. I can't waite to read what your experience. These are special moments for all of us. Take care.

Congrats on reaching your goal! The feeling of getting into jeans again is definately cool, it's all i wear now. As for the drivers lisence, that is awesome. This last april i got pulled over and almost got a ticket cause the officer refused to believe it was me in the picture of my license. He gave me a warning with ten days to get a new one. In michigan if you lose or gain more then 50 pounds you must get a new lisence. I still kept my old one for memories.

I am almost 2 years out and when I had to get a new drivers liscense in September 05......I had the weight changed to read 175......This was my own personal goal... not sure for awhile I would ever reach it but July 23 I did and the next day I weighed 174.... I am so thankful to have made it..... Now the WOW moment.... I got into a pair of real blue jeans.....I have not been in jeans in over 35 yrs.... I went to my daughthers house ... told her I was gonna show her something she had never seen... pulled up my shirt and showed her .... She says "OMG< you have on real jeans with pockets, zipper and everything"...My husband was so sweet..... this last saturday, he bought me new jeans and a top....size 12....He even encouraged me to try on several pair... told me which ones he liked on me...It was a great feeling knowing he was excited about my new life and health as well as I was.... It was a a great day........ thanks for sharing my good moments.... event though I have not been posting or reading here for sometime....
but I am back again .....

I didn't have any problems with my tests, my problem was the hospital billing office. They called me two days before surgery and told me i had to pay fifty percent, and i had to have ten grand the day of surgery. How many ppl can come up with that much cash in two days? I asked why they didn't try my second insurance, duh? it took them until 6p.m. the next day to get approval. Thank God, cause if i had to pay i couldn't and wouldn't have ended up the hottie i am today (just kidding) LOL

Topic: Question- Test?
Any problems doing the tests before surgery? Something funny or angry? Here goes mine. I saw my surgeon on May 2003. He gave me a list of test to do before the surgery. There was nothing on the paper that said when to have those test done. I immediately get the test done. A couple weeks later I get my surgery date. It is for May 2004. I rescheduled my surgery 1 month before the big day. I was graduating 2 days after the surgery. I couldn't make it down the steps of the football stadium. I rescheduled for August 2004. Then they told me to make sure I did the test on their scheduled time. I was not told about this the first time. Just think if I would have shown up on May 2004 for the surgery. I would have been sent back home with no surgery. Here comes the funny parts. I get my second physicological test. This time with a different psychologist. He says he has experience with what he has to do with people that are having surgery. While I am there he is trying to convince me not to have the surgery. He says he doesn't believe in the surgery. I told him I wasn't there for an approval. So he signed it and faxed it. Then my surgeon office calls a couple days before the surgery and says they are missing the EKG. I told them I did it. Well what do you know, my personal doctor did not do it. I ended having it done 2 days before the surgery. Sorry if I wrote too much, but to many things were happening before the surgery. And I was so angry that it took me over 1 year to have it. I know you will all had better luck than I. Hope to hear from all of you.
