Topic: How are you feeling?
Hey everyone! It's been awhile since I last posted... it seems like life has somehow hit fast-forward and I can't quite keep up! So here's my ramble to catch everyone up on my life... I've been in plateau mode for awhile now, and getting a little frustrated, but still keeping on track (mostly)... I really envy those of you who can honestly say you've never cheated. For me, resisting temptation (even with dumping as a guarantee afterwards) is pretty hard, although not as tough as before surgery. My biggest accomplishment in the past two weeks is that I've woken up early (anywhere from 3am-5am depending on the day) and worked out FIRST before doing anything else. In the past 14 days, I've worked out 11 times! Pretty awesome, huh? My work outs have either been 20 min Pilates + 20 min running on the elliptical machine, OR 35 minutes on the elliptical, OR a 45 minute speed walk to my son's daycare and back, pushing him in the stroller. Previously I've been sort of hit-or-miss about working out, so my new dedication to it has really made me proud. So far I'm down 93 pounds and wearing a size 10 jeans!!!!!! I can't believe it! My family (who don't know I've had the surgery) says that they haven't seen me this small since high school!!! That was over 10 years ago!!! My hubby told me the other day that my body was HOT. HA!!!! Yeah, maybe if I had some plastic surgery... but that's got to wait until I lose around 30 more pounds and keep it off a year. Then my reward will be to get rid of all of this excess skin and flab. I weigh 164 now and I'm 5'6". Maybe my goal is too low of a weight, but I'm still shooting for it. Other than that, I'm looking forward to graduation... yes, at 29 years of age I'm FINALLY going to graduate from college with a bachelor's degree in biology and minor in chemistry. Funny since I'm actually in the mortgage business and looking to open my own company in early 2006. But at least I'm finally finishing what I started nearly 6 years ago... I can't wait... May 21st can't come soon enough! Anyways, I know I've been rambling, thanks for reading. Keep up the good work everyone, you're all doing so well and looking so good!!!! Dawn

Good morning, I'm still at an 86 lb loss this week. But on the good side, I am running over 4 miles on the treadmill and getting in another 3-4 miles on the elliptical...all this on an average of 4-5 times a week. My exercise is definitely making a huge difference with my weight loss. To be perfectly honest, I probably don't eat the things I should all the time but I offset that with the exercise. On the subject of eating more...I was talking to a friend of mine that had this surgery about 1 1/2 years ago and she was saying there are still days when she can eat more than she could the day before, or even the day after. I could totally relate with that. My eating isn't out of control even though I do worry about it at times. For me that's a healthy fear to have, though. Theresa 227/216/141/136

Hi Elizabeth! That's awesome you're doing so well... I'm jealous! I'm down 93 pounds, but these last few weeks the weight is REALLY hanging on. If you'd like to write to me, I'd be happy to talk about problems, etc... I kind of need someone who's been through this, too. I had my surgery on 08/03/2004. My email is [email protected]. I live in Marysville, CA. Drop a line sometime! Dawn

Hi all! Hope everyone had a fabulous week. I hit 100 lbs last week, but this morning I was up 2 lbs, so I'm sitting at 98 lbs. lost in 7 months. I'm hoping those last 2 come off soon, and stay off. I know I should be exercising, but I'm not. I know I need to start taking stock in what I'm eating, cause I'm finding that am eating more than I think I should, and when I do have my snacks, I eat stuff that I shouldn't. I don't want to fall into that habit again. I'm starting a part time job some time next week, I will be working 1 or 2 nights per week, and on the weekends. Of all places to work, I'll be working at the deli counter of our neighborhood grocery store, although I'll be on my feet all the time, so I'm hoping that actually helps with the weight loss. $10 an hour, so I can beat that with a stick! Hopefully I won't be doing myself in energy wise. Anyway...I'm sitting at 98 lbs. How did you do? JUDY 359/261/185? (I've revised my goal weight, so many people have told me that I need to be a little more realistic...so....76 lbs. to go to my goal, 52 lbs. til surgeon's goal)
