Topic: RE: New Shoes?
Old size = 12WW New size = 11W Not a big change, but I need some new New Balance shoes and Birkenstock sandals. I like alot of support for my feet. In the meantime, I went to Payless to buy a pair of clogs and a pair of dress shoes.

My weakness is strawberries! I can eat 8 or 9 at one time, then 3 hrs later same thing. They are not filling and cals are low. And do they ever have the water! I stay in the bathroom. I have not checked to cals per cup, just remember from past diets they are low. Marla

I am still holding! Not sure about the size. I am wearing size 14's however they are way too big, so guess I am into 12's top and bottom. I am 5'4" so that would also make a difference with sizes. OK the race is on....!!!

Topic: New Shoes?
I'm just curious. How many of you have had to buy all new shoes since WLS? I discovered at 4 ½ months, that my size 11's were getting way too big. I'm in a size 10 shoe now, what I wore before college. I can not believe it! So.....if you don't mind.... please let me know if this has happened to you? Old size = 11 M New size = 10 M ~Laura

Topic: RE: 8/16ers - 32 weeks
Judy: I subscribe to Prevention Magazine, and in a recent article I read that every person needs at least 200 minutes of exercise a week..... and it doesn't matter how we get it or how we break it down. Are you getting that 200 minutes of exercise in a week? What is your typical weekly exercise routine? I don't always get 200 minutes, but I usually get 90 minutes, if I go to Curves 3 times a week. I SHOULD walk every night also, but I do not. I SHOULD do Pilates and other floor exercises, but I do not. I SHOULD keep my hands out of my kids' Easter candy baskets, but I do not! Easier said than done, my friend. I struggle every day----and even though the surgery has helped me "get started," the rest is up to me. I am working so hard at it, and sometimes it is very frustrating when the scales just don't budge! Good luck to you, my friend! ~Laura

Topic: RE: Are we at risk like Terry Schiavo?
Before WLS, my regular doctor was very concerned about my low potassium level. It runs in my family and even relatives that did not struggle with their weight had to take extra supplements. Since WLS, I have been taking vitamins regularly and watching my diet closely. I am healthier than ever, and my doctor has the blood test results to prove it. He's thrilled with my progress and monitors me closely. I do not know the details of Terri's imbalance that led to her heart attack, but from what I understand about heart attacks, it could happen to anyone at any time.....healthy or not. This is a terrible thing for Terri, her parents, her family, and her husband. I don't think there are any winners here---no matter how it ends. But, I do not believe that we need to live in fear of becoming catatonic like Terri because of an imbalance created by our WLS. If we follow our doctor's advice, we stand as good a chance as anyone of living a long and healthy life. ~Laura

Topic: RE: UP AND DOWN!
I am having the same problem here. I was down to 144 lbs, then up to 145 lbs and today I was 146 lbs. Now that is just the ups, but about a month ago I was all over the scale. Right now I am having issues with my job, so I am under a lot of stress. And I have really exercised for about 2 weeks. I am so close to the 100 lb mark, but I guess my body want to hold on. I am being a little generous right now with myself, by trying not to freak out on the upward trend. I will give it another week, then I am going to have to start changing my routine. Good Luck 240/146/130 Alicia
