Date of surgery: 8/3/04 Weight day of surgery: 248 Current weight: 148 Total lost since surgery: 100 Total lost since highest weight (if you lost weight for your program as a requirement): 106 from heighest weight of 254 Goal weight: 130 Pounds to goal: 18 Starting size in clothing: 26 Current size in clothing: 6-8 depending on who makes it Starting shoe size: 9.5-10 wide Current shoe size: 8 regular Any other comments you want to add about your journey: This has been an amazing journey so far and I wouldn't trade it in for all the money in the world. This surgery has opened so much for me and I'm so grateful that I've had it done. Now, I have had some issues over the last month that have come to surface. I have been snacking far too often and was self sabotaging my weight loss. But with the wonderful friends that I have made here on OH I have realized that the reason that I was afraid of getting thin was that I'm now feeling vulnerable and not worthy. But with some positive self talk everyday and a determination to have some self defense training I'm working on overcoming this. I am worthy of this weight loss, I am worthy of being happy, healthy, sexy and thin. Kristy 254/148/130

OK, YOU ALL ARE SCARING ME, MY CLOSET LOOKS LIKE A SHOE STORE, I HAVE OVER 100 PAIRS OF SHOES WAITING FOR ME, NOT ENCLUDING BOOTS, I'D SAY I'VE ONLY WORN ABOUT 25% OF THEM AND THATS PUSHING IT, I WAS WAITING FOR THAT DAY WHEN I'VE LOST ENOUGH WEIGHT TO WEAR THEM, IF MY FEET SHRINK, WHAT AM I GOING TO DO??? THIN I CAN STUFF THEM WITH SOMETHING? HA HA

Topic: RE: Why do I focus on the negative????
Hello Alicia, I relate to you. I have lost 160 lbs. so far and you would think that would be enough to turn my attitude around, right? All, I do is tell people how much I have to loose. It is a lot and I should not focus on that but the success. It is from years of negative thinking on my part. I keep working on it and I hope you do too. We are the one's that suffer. We will get better. We can pray for eachother. Hope you have a great day! Thanks for the post that hit home for me. Bye. Barb

Date of surgery: 8/10/04 Weight day of surgery: 349 lbs Current weight: 239 lbs Total lost since surgery: 115 lbs Total lost since highest weight (if you lost weight for your program as a requirement): 120 lbs Goal weight: 150 lbs (This is my goal for now. I still have a hard time imaging that I will someday weight 150 lbs.) Pounds to goal: 89 lbs Starting size in clothing: 32 Current size in clothing: Shirts 3x but they are getting too big. Dress Pants size 18 but jeans are size 22. I guess that is the way they are made. Starting shoe size: 9 1/2 W Current shoe size: 8 1/2 to 9 (I am between regular and wide) Any other comments you want to add about your journey: I am so happy I decided to do this. I just hate I waited so long to do it. I feel great and feel much better about myself. I can not imagine how I will feel when I reach my goal. The only problems I have is I still want the high carb/starchy foods but after a few bites it does not settle well with me and I ask myself why I even ate it to start with. And of course, I have a problem getting in all my exercise and water.

Hey there, I wanted to put my stats in here as well. I am 8mos out as of today and have lost 80lbs. I started at 281 and it seems like it has taken forever to lose those pounds but I have been working out like crazy. I take a salsaexercise class on Mondays, and walk 2 miles a day plus weights and eliptical. I stalled out big time when I started all this but increased my protien and water and the weight is starting to come off again. My inches have gone down. I must measure when the weight doesn't come off so I know I am still going in the right direction. I am proud of myself for changing my lifestyle habits.. I have 50 to go for my personal goal and 30 for the dr. I am enjoying every day of it. Keep up the great work everyone. Cheri
