Topic: Fallen off the wagon!
For those of you that have also "fallen off", what did you do to "get back on?" I have come to find that I am not bothered by pretty much anything, I have not dumped(maybe a mild case). I have come to find that I am returning to my old ways and eating anything that I want and I'm afraid that I will end up gaining back what I've lost and then some. I haven't been exercising either, I can't seem to stop this behavior and part of me wants to just kick myself. I am 3 lbs.from the century mark and 17 lbs. from goal. I am very ashamed of myself and I don't know how to get back on track. Has anyone else gone through this? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanx, Natalie

I hear that Leslie... I just went and had my eyes checked and was told my sight had improved by two grades. I was shocked - I went in because my eyes felt strained, my contacts were blurry... of course I figured my vision was getting worse. Turns out my vision was getting better and my contact prescription was too strong for me...

I'm doing great! I'm down 102 lbs and have about 40-45 to go. It feels like I'm losing sooooo sloooowwwwllly these days, but I'm still losing about 8-10 lbs per month. I guess that's pretty good for 8 months out. I've been getting to the gym more lately, which is good. But everything's about to go topsy turvy on me. My family and I are moving to another city at the end of May. I HATE moving. Bleh. As I pac****ep asking myself how in the world we accumulatee so much crap in just 2 years?! But I guess it'll be good exercise, huh? The only other news with me lately is that I'm getting contacts for the first time since college. Woo-hoo! I'm so excited. They had to order special ones for me because I have astigmatism and a steep curvature to my eye. But I'll have them in a few days. ---- Leslie -102

Garsh i read your note about your legs and thought i have that problem sometimes at night not all the time but i have been going to a chiropractor which it took along time to find one i trust . But it really helps .I think something gets pinched or pressure on it . When my legs go numb it is really hard to turn over even because they are like dead weight so you try to flip yourself over.Usually once i move it starts to go away but if i go to the chiropractor then it doesn't happen for along time but it is scarry when it happens you feel paralized.Well hope you are doing better . Topic: Vision Changes
I could tell that my glasses weren't right for me anymore, so I went for an eye exam today--my first since before WLS. As I suspected, my vision had improved dramatically since losing 100+ lbs. My glasses are not only the wrong prescription now, but they're constantly sliding down my face because they're so loose. It's funny the things that shrink that we don't really think about. I never considered that my eyeballs might shrink! I decided to get contacts for the first time in over ten years. I'm so excited! Anyway, if you wear glasses or contacts, you might want to get your eyes checked (if you haven't lately) just in case your vision has improved. My optometrist said she has several WLS patients who all had significant changes in their prescriptions following rapid weight loss. Go fig! ---- Leslie -102

I'm doing pretty good...can't really complain. I'm down 105 lbs from 254 to 149. I'm 19 lbs from goal and 8 lbs from being "NORMAL". I've gone from a size 24/26 to a 6/8 and my diabetes is cured, my hypertension is cured, & my sleep apnea is cured! I would have to say that my only complaint is that I'm 6 weeks into my first plateau. I've been bouncing from 148-150 for what seems like forever. I realized that I was eating too many carbs and eating too often. So I'm going back to the protein and working my way down from snacking all the time to snacking 3x a day. I've done good with the 3 snacks a day...next week I'm going to reduce it to 2 snacks a day which is where my surgeon wants me to be. He wants me to eat 3 meals and 2 snacks. I go in again next month for my 9 month work up so I'll tell you then how my labs are. Kristy 254/149/130
