Topic: August lap-band babies
Hi everyone! I had my lap-band on 31/8/05 and I've lost 95 pounds! I can't wait to hit the century club! I know that's amazing and we shouldn't really compare weight loss, but I was wondering other August babies, (8 months out) what have you guys lost? The best part is another 15 pounds and I'm half way done!!! Thanx! Have a great day! Becca 389/294/170

Oh my Goodness, you look great. Doesn't it feel wonderful to look at those pictures and know that it's you. I just posted pictures on my profile too and am also having a tough time grasping that it is actually me. I also now realize that I never truly knew just how big I was. I knew what the scale said but just didn't put it to image. Anyway congratulations, you look great and keep up the good (hard) work. Saundra

Topic: RE: Date of surgery: 8/18/04 ...
Hi, I noticed when I hit the 7 mo mark that I was more hungry. I finally went to the bariatric eating.com and bought some of the low carb high protien things to eat. Not bad. I really like the peanut butter Power Crunch bars. That way I am satisfying my eating and still eating good. When I was at the store I am looking for more of the same. I found some South Beach Diet cereal bars that have 10 grms protien and only 9 impact carbs. I also found some low carb ice cream sandwiches. They only have 80 cals, 5 net carbs, 2 protien, and 2 sugars. They are good. I am also eating lots of strawberries. Berries are the best, low sugar and high vitamins. Good luck, Karin

Up some days & down others. I am so glad a friend showed me this site. I have been eating like a pig. My appetite returned full force. Then I started reading messages on this site and found many others are going thru the same thing.

Topic: RE: 5 A Day??
Uh, yeah... I wish I could say that I was getting 5 a day... How the heck can we manage that? I SOMETIMES get in a whole banana a day... other times it's only a half. I do eat 1-2 servings a day of veggies (usually some salad and then some cooked veggies with my meat at dinner). I wonder what she considers a serving size to be though??? I eat MAYBE a spoonful of veggies as one serving. Maybe I really need to meet with my dietician again. Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm........ Keep up the good work by the way! Lots of love, Dawn

Topic: RE: Vision Changes
I really wish my vision would change for the better I couldn't read the big "E" at the top of the test way back when in 4th grade and it's only gotten worse since. I have had my vision checked recently and there are no changes in my prescription. I also now have the beginnings of GLAUCOMA- Yikes!!! they ran a bunch of tests. I know it has nothing to do with WLS though. I'm on eye drops to keep my pressures down. Kudos to you for your improvements. Sue H.
