Thank you, ladies SOOO MUCH! Okay, I can do this. I'm ready to get off this plateau and take it to the next level. You all have done so AWESOME!

Hey Judy! You're such an inspiration to me. Thanks for keeping us all so motivated!
I finally broke that blasted plateau and dropped about 12 pounds in the last 6 weeks. I just pushed the exercise and cut back on my carb intake. It seems to be working.
I'm only 6 pounds away from being under 200 pounds. That's my next "goal." My "reward" will be to take in an hour-long massage! Can't wait!
My doctor wants me to get to 160, and I have to agree----that would be a very good weight for me. I'm a very tall girl with big bones, and anything less than 160 pounds would be kind of "too skinny," and with the little bit of excess skin I see now.....I think it would just look really bad to be too thin and not be able to afford plastic surgery!
Thank heavens for 3/4 length sleeves, body smoothers and good panty hose! LOL
I've always wanted to own and wear a white bathing suit, and I just ordered one this week. It is a one-piece (of course) and has a little built-in skirt to it. I have never looked forward to swimsuit season as much as I have this year. I have nothing to fear! I LOVE swimming....and in Alabama, our swim season is from May - September. (Some like to swim earlier and later, but I can't tolerate the cooler water!)
Keep up the fantastic work. I think I will be just as excited for you to reach your goal....as I will be when I do! You look marvelous, by the way!

I am so elated to hear of your success. I too am having quite a problem with the scale moving. I was at 180 when I went to see my surgeon on 04/05. Then on 04/06 I was down to 175. Boy was I geeked. Then when I weighed again on 04/10/05 I was back up to 180 where I've been every since. Move scale NOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, I know what you guys are saying. Stay off the freaking scale. It is just so hard. Much continued success Judith. Save some pounds lose for me.
Topic: RE: Exercise Poll - How much per week?
Hi Laura,
I go to the gym 4 days a week. I do about 20-30 minutes of weight training and 30 minutes of Eliptical or treadmill. On Sat. I do about 90 minutes of weights, 30 min of Eliptical and a nice sauna!
I work up a big sweat, I don't think you're really exercising for calorie burn unless you are working hard enough to sweat.
Without exercise, I don't think I would be at 98 pounds lost. I have an incredibly slow metabolism. The muscle I'm gaining is helping with that.

Maybe I need to follow your advise and stop comparing myself, because I am a slow loser too.

Ok, first of all you are not alone in the whole I'm-on-a-plateau-and-feel-like-a-failure kick. It's completely natural to hit a plateau now and again. It's your bodys way of trying to catch up with your weight loss. I just got off of an 8 week plateau so I completely understand. I started journaling everything that I put in my mouth at (www.) fitday.com. I cut back on my snacking (especially on high carb things like chips and such), increased my protein (to at least 100g a day) and increased my water (at least 80oz a day). I'm still not exercising...and frankly I just don't have time to right now between work and school. Don't stress...you're not done and your plateau will break. Mine just broke on Wednesday, before then I was fluctuating as well...149.5-150-150.5-150-150.5-149.5-150-150.5-150-150.5....you get the picture. Then Wednesday it broke and I dropped 1.5 lbs...then yesterday another 0.5 lb and today another 0.5 lb. So take a deep breath...relax...increase your protein...increase your water...decrease your carb intake...and journal everything you eat and it will break. Not overnight but it will break. It's taken me about 2-2 1/2 weeks of my new habits before the plateau broke. Chin up...you're doing great.
