Hey, we are 9 months out. How's everybody doing and feeling? As for me, I feel great. All my health issues are gone. Did you hear me, they are gone? No more high blood pressure, no more acid reflux, no more asthma, no more pain in my knees. This is a wonderful tool and I pray I will be able to maintain for the rest of my life. It isn't easy but, I owe it to myself. I'm on a major plateau. I haven't seen a lose since the 5th of this month. I'm not complaining because I appreciate what the Lord has done for me thus far but, I would like to see a little movement on that scale. Could it be possible to stop losing at 9 months? Give me some feedback and Happy Losing.

Topic: I almost got picked up in a bar!
I couldn't believe it. Let me say this first...I'm married...happily married, and would NEVER be picked up in a bar...however, I was recently flattered!!!! My husband and I live above a restaurant. When I got home from work on Sunday night, I told him I really would like to have a glass of wine before I went to bed, since we didn't have any we decided to go the bar at the restaurant we live above. My husband took the dog in the apartment, along with my work apron and my coat, and I went in and ordered myself a glass of wine, and my hubby a beer. There was no one there except one man sitting at the corner of the bar. I obviously didn't really take much notice of him. My husband arrived and we enjoyed a drink together. The bartender (whom we've seen on occasion) told me how awesome I looked, and asked how much weight I had lost...and of course I had my pictures with me...so I pulled them out and he looked through and commented how fabulous I looked. The gentlemen on the other side of the bar took a gander too. He said, you really do look great...I have to admit...when you walked in...I checked to see if you had wedding rings on... never...in all my life...I mean never...had anyone give me such a great compliment...that man made my night...my husband wasn't too thrilled.... I told him he would never have to worry...because I loved him and I would NEVER allow anyone to take me away from him!!!! JUDY

Hi Gals! Sorry I didn't post yesterday, was so busy I didn't get a chance to. I've been having a great week. I have lost 6 lbs. since last week. I'm now down to 251.4. This second job is really helping I think. I have also adjusted what kind of foods I'm eating and it is also making a difference. I'm getting in around 1000 calories a day vs. 13-1400, and around 36 g. of fat vs. 50, and I'm tyring to stay around 80 grams plus of protein. Plus I'm drinking 120 oz. of water a day, plus additional beverages, so I'm probably taking in around 180 oz. of fluid a day. I feel great, people are really starting to tell me how great I look (I guess cause my clothes all fit and aren't too big anymore). So....how did you do? JUDY 359/251.4/165-185? -107.4 lbs

I also had an ulcer about 2 months ago, my Doc felt was stress related. The pain was horrible and it was also bleeding. I felt weak and vomitted alot. I was prescribed PREVACID. What a wonderful drug that was. I stopped bleeding within 2 days and the pain subsided within a week. I have not vomitted since. Good Luck. Cyndee

Topic: RE: Exercise Poll - How much per week?
Well, I still struggle off and on. I usually end up blowing off the gym once a week. Tonight for instance. So I guess in utmost honesty I only exercise three times week even though I shoot for four. Three days of step aerobics and one day of water aerobics. I also sometimes leave the step class after the actual aerobics and don't stay for the floor work, but I'm working on changing that, too. Despite the fact that I seem to be being hard on myself in this post, I really am very proud of the changes I HAVE made. I didn't exercise at all before WLS!! Thanks for asking this question. I've enjoyed reading the responses! 'Stine 8/26/04, 325-96=229

Welcome, Stine! This is the best group of people, always supportive and super nice. You'll like it here. 'Can't address BS/BS question. I have BC/BS Alliance of MO. but they haven't been of much help. I was a self pay for the RNY. I doubt if they'd cover any plastics if they won't do the bariatric surgery. Good luck in your quest & take care. Barb
