I've been grazing something awful. I need to be better. I'm concerned that now that I look relatively normal I'm losing motivation. ~barbie

Hi Norma
Hi haven't posted in awhile. I also had surgery on 8/30. Started out at 305 pounds. I am down to 180 pounds with a loss of 125 pounds. I am so excited, but find myself getting on that scale every morning and now have started doing it before going to bed. I think I'm obsessed. When I don't show a loss I even hit the scale. I am afraid to drink alot of water because I am afraid to retain the water and then show a weight gain. I now this sounds nuts. Have you ever struggled with any of this? Congratulations our progress. Your doing great!!!!!

my weekly date with the scale
weight: 150
loss this wk: -3
loss thus far: 105
I'm more hungry than I have been since this whole journey! Nothing out of control, but catch myself asking "is it dinner yet?"...But, I'm still losing my usual 2-3lbs a week, so can't complain. I'm technically 10 lbs from goal...
Thanks,
norma

Topic: RE: HAPPY 9 MONTHS TO US!!
Hi Julia,
I had my RNY on 8/11/04 and so far I am down 148# . I went from 373.6 on the day of surgery to 225 today. So far so good . I haven't had any complecations yet(Knock wood!!!!) This was the best thing I ever did for myself! I am still losing about 10#s a month and I hope this keeps up. I don't have a problem snacking on bad stuff because I just won't buy it and bring it into the house. My husband had Rny 2/7/05 (down 80#s)so he don't miss the bad stuff either. My 14yr old Daughter can eat snacks at school so she doesn't feel to deprived.
Good Luck!!!! Leslie

You are doing great. Remember you are only 9 months out. You still have some losing to do if you are sticking to the rules. Protien first, then vegetables then carbs if you really must have them. Drink plenty of water. Take all your vitamins. It will come off.
Topic: RE: Anybody start out at 450 and above?
Hi guys,
I started at 407 and now I am 281. I cant believe that I lost so much and still have so much to go. I know I should not think that way, and be happy with how far I have come, but sometimes its hard. Most of the people started before WLS smaller then I am now! Well, thanks for letting me vent.
