Topic: Follow-up to Exercise Post
Hi folks,
I posted last week about my exercise dilemma. http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/surgdate-forums/08-2004/postdetail/9414.html?vc=0
Basically, it was "Why does my weight not change much when I am working out like crazy?" I know I am gaining muscle and losing inches, but still, so frustrating!
Anyway, I took five days off exercise and you know what? I lost 3.5 lbs. in a week! That's a lot for me, at this stage of the journey.
I've heard that sometimes your body needs a rest to actually give up the pounds, after lots of exercising. Whether that's technically true or not, I don't know, but it rings true for me.
I say this not to discourage people from exercising. Quite the opposite! But if you are working out 5-7 times a week and not seeing a change on the scale, perhaps a few days off would be encouraging to you.
If you think it would completely knock the exercise incentive out of your system, PLEASE DON'T STOP!
It felt good to hit the road again this morning and take a nice, brisk walk. I can't believe I am saying this, but I missed the exercise! I think I missed the post-exercise feeling that I had done something good with my day, more than the exercise itself.
Thanks for your support. I hope everyone has a good day.

Topic: A wooohooo moment...
Hi all,
I just thought I would share.
I just realized, I am now considered a WLS success as I have lost a little over 80% of my excess body weight. Yahoooo!! And second, my BMI is now in the over-weight category. I AM NO LONGER OBESE!!!!!!
I am so happy I will never see that word in any combination in my medical records from here on out.
Just thought I would share!
Take care,
Christie

No change for me in quite awhile. I am still at a lose of 80 pounds.
I did join a gym this week and started going. So hoepfully that will help kick stat the weight loss again.

We've recently babysat for our two grandsons(ages- 3 years and 12 months) for 4 days. Love 'em to pieces but there's a reason 50 year olds don't get pregnant!!!
OMG, owe were so worn out.
'Haven't lost in a couple of weeks but I tend to drop in bunches.
One thing I don't get, though I'm not complaining.........I'm 5'4" and weigh 164 lbs. That's a lot but I'm wearing a size 10 or a medium. When I was younger, I couldn't fit in a size 10 @ 145lbs. What's up with that?
Have sizes changed? Best~barb 276/164.

Hi Lisa,
I am acutally doing extremely great now that I have had my gallbladder out 5.5 weeks ago and the RNY surgery back in August 04. I have lost more than I ever thought I would. I have lost about -149 lbs and I love every minute. -----I smile more now than ever....
I had my bank teller to tell me I NEED to get a new license picture this week because it looks like me and it don't.
I have even had a 24 year old to approach me about a date. I told him: 'young man do you know I old I am...?' He said: 'he didn't care because I looked nice.' So cute (young men)... anyway, my head went straight up in the clouds for the remainder of the day...
Here are my sizes now:
Dress size: was 32/34 now 16/18
Pants size: was 32/34 now 16/18 (some 18/20 depending on maker)
Shirt size: was 4x now Large or a 14/16 (and some 16/18)
Shoe size: was 11 now 9 (9.5 depending on maker)
BMI: was 55.9 now 35.5
BP: was 140/124 now 118/70
**I have lost a lot of inches and lbs over the last 9 months...
