Stacy,
Congrats!
I can hardly wait to get there myself. I am at 201.5 and my weight keeps dancing around there. I am starting to think the scale is taunting me...
Great job,
Christie

Yolanda, I'm slow loser also. But it's ok. I lose about 1-2 pounds per week now and feel like a great 'loser'. I exercise 5-6 times perweek at the local gym and can feel like a bear when I miss a day now.
You're doing great.

Topic: RE: 8/30 check-weigh/in
Hi Norma,
I haven't been around in a few weeks, just busy. I finally broke 100 this week. I had been stuck at 99 lost for about 3 weeks. The scale finally moved this week.
I had to have a gallbladder ultrasound last week and I will be having surgery on the 15th to remove it and the stones. A side effect I had hoped I wouldn't have. Aw well at least I have a great surgeon working on me.
I'm glad that everyone is doing well. I hope we all continue to do so. I'll try to check in more often. Keep up the good work everyone.
Later,
Pat B.

WELL MY ANIVERSARY IS 8/9. NEXT WEEK I AM HAVING THE SKIN ON MY ARMS TAKEN OFF AS WELL AS MY STOMACH. I HAVE LOST 158 POUNDS. I DONT KNOW HOW TO FIGURE INCHES. MY MEASURE AT MY BELLYBUTTON WAS 70 AND LAST MONTH IS WAS 57. I AM HOPING THAT THE PANULECTOMY WILL TAKE OFF THE ABNORMAL PART OF ME AND I CAN GET INTO THE SMALL SIZE ON THE BOTTOM HALF AS WELL. IT IS SO COOL TO BE ABLE TO WALK INTO A STORE AND FIND NICE CLOTHES THAT FIT. I THINK THAT HAS GOT TO BE THE COOLEST PART OF THIS SURGERY. I NEVER REALLY LIKED CLOTHES BEFORE BECAUSE THEY WERE MORE TENTS THAN SHIRTS. NOW IT HAS A BIT OF SHAPE AND FASHION IN A SIZE 14-16 DEPENDING ON THE MAKERS. THE FACTORY OUTLET STORES IN LOVELAND ARE GREAT! I HAVE WENT THROUGH MY CLOSETS 4 TIMES IN THE PAST 9 MONTHS. SOMEONE IN THE SALVTION ARMY HAS SOME PRETTY NICE CLOTHES.
CONGRATS TO FELLOW AUGUST LOSERS WHO NOW ARE THE KINGS AND QUEENS OF THE LOSERS LOUNGE!
Topic: RE: Calorie intake?
I was eating 1200-1300 and had a bit of a plateau, so I decreased it down to 1000. Sure enough, lost 2-3lbs this last week after 2weeks with no loss. I think just decreasing it a bit in times of plateau's does help to kick start it back up and get the weightloss fairies workin'! The decrease in the cal's isn't bad at all, just gotta find more creative ways to get some good food in there with not as many carbs, etc. I did add more protein and water, but we all do that at some point to get things going.
1. 1000
2. 4 times
3. 3 meals, 1 snack (snack only allowed if its fruits :P ) I've been good about the snacks, but trust me, my prior snack was popcorn...so its been hard!

Topic: RE: Calling All 8/3'ers! It's Our 10 Month Anniversary! Post An Update!!
I'm an August 3rd baby as well. I'm down 108 lbs and losing veeerrrryyy ssslllooowwllyyy now. I've lost about 5 lbs in the past 2 months. Aargh! But my excuse is that my family has been in the process of a stressful relocation for weeks now and I've been off my exercise pattern, eating at strange times, and eating out a lot. Things will be settling down now that we're finally in the new house--I'm going to hit the regimen HARD to get back on track.
But I feel great and am still very glad I had the surgery. No way could I have lost over 100 lbs without it! And this level of stress and upheaval would have caused me to gain 10-20 lbs in my pre-WLS days.
I have about 40 lbs left to get to goal. Feels like I'll never get there at this rate, but I'm going to give it all I've got. Back to the gym and back to the rules!
Looking forward to an active and fun summer with my kids.

Topic: RE: Drinking with meals....
My doc says it's because the liquid washes food through the pouch too quickly and we are then able to eat more than we ought to. It's true--I tend to drink with meals at restaurants, and I'm able to eat MUCH more of my meal when I drink at the same time. I'm also hungry again sooner than usual after the meal is over. So, basically, it takes away the benefit of the size restriction of the pouch.

I try to avoid fast food places as much as possible. Usually when DH and I go out it's to a restaraunt where we can split a meal. I usually order steak/prime rib dinner and since we split it....it's not that expensive. Lately though our kick has been Mexican food...I don't know why but I've been on a chicken quesadilla kick. So we'll go and I'll order the chicken quesadilla lunch with all beans and take the rest home for left overs. If we end up going to a fast food joint...it depends on where we go. Normally we'll go to either Taco Bell (DH doesn't like Del Taco) or Wendy's. At Taco Bell I'll order either the chicken quesadilla w/ no sauce or if I'm feeling naughty I'll order a nacho supreme w/ extra cheese. At Wendy's...it's the chili w/ extra cheese. I've tried a few of the burger places...but find that I no longer like the burgers...all I seem to taste is the fat...blech! And fried food just upsets my little pouchy...if DH is craving a burger...we go to Wendy's...or he goes alone.
