Congrats on such a great loss so far! You're not finished yet. You can get below 200! There's a person in my local support group who is more than 2 years out and still losing--slowly, but she's still dropping pounds. I get discouraged when I let myself feel like those who started out my size or smaller are leaving me behind. I'm so happy for them, but I feel like I'll never get there myself. I still have 35-40 lbs to go to get to my personal goal, and it feels impossible sometimes since my weight loss has slowed down so much. But I keep working on being optimistic, and every once in awhile I drop a couple of pounds. I haven't gained, so I'm happy.

Topic: NOT at goal yet
I just read the latest batch of messages (haven't been here in awhile) and noticed several in a row about people reaching or surpassing their goal weights. Congratulations to you all!!! How wonderful to be at goal! I'm so pleased for you and proud of all you have done.
That said, I have to be honest that despite being genuinely pleased for those who have reached goal, I'm feeling a little discouraged for myself. I have about 35-40 more to go to reach my goal range, and I'm hardly losing anything at all anymore. I'm still plugging along--I haven't given up on reaching goal. It still feels do-able to me. But I have a long way to go at the rate I've been going (lucky to lose 1-2 lbs in a month now).
I'm not complaining--I just mainly wanted to post that I'm not at goal so that those who are out there who are also not at goal will not feel like "Geez, everyone but me is at goal already." I'll bet those of us who are not at goal are the majority. We need to keep encouraging each other and let each other know that we're still here, plugging along, and we'll make it!!!

Topic: RE: What's Going on
Hey Sunny,
Girl you look WONDERFUL!!!! I was looking at before and after pictures you look amazing!!!!! I sent pictures to the board and they haven't posted as yet. However, that has since given me the incentive to just do it myself. It's definitely funny how we are the same height a pound different and in different sizes. I finally realized that I had to give up the fours when they were constantly turning. I'm so looking forward to the tuck. Most or actually all of my fat was in my abdomen. I've lost most of it and if not for the hernia would have had to live with the tummy until I saved the money. It's just annonying. However, not noticeable. Thanks for your well wishes and looking forward to sharing pictures post tummy tuck.

Topic: What's Going on
Hey there all my August buddies,
Just wanted to say hello and to update my buddies on my progress. I had surgery August 30th 2004 at that time I weighed 226 and wore size 18/20 (highest weight 229) height 5'2". I currently weigh 128 wearing size 2 in clothes and 7 1/2 in shoes. My ring size was 8 it's now a 6 (getting engaged on May 14th confirmed this).
I've been approved for a Tummy Tuck with Hernia repair and I'll have this surgery on the 20th of July. I'm also getting breast implants and would have this surgery on September 7th of this year. My favorite past-time was shopping now I simply can't get enough of it!!!!
I'm grateful eternally to Dr. Macura and Lazzaro. I'm grateful and thankful that I have a forum that allows me to read posts that are helpful, funny and most of all supportive. I have the pleasure of reading and experiencig weight loss from your perspective and for this I'm eternally grateful.
So while I haven't posted in a very long time it doesn't mean that I'm not reading and visiting the board (I come at least five times a day) I'm addicted. I hope that everyone has continued success and take care of yourself and each other.
Have a healthy and safe July 4th.
Peace and blessings

Topic: RE: plastic surgery united healthcare
I also am interested in anyone that has had plastic surgery covered by United Healthcare. My policy says No cosmetic surgery.
Rachael,
We are about the same size & height. I had lap RNY on Aug 27th of last year. I am down 104 lbs. I am 5' 7" and now weigh 174. I am in a size 14. For the first time in my life. Yipee!! I have some skin on my arms, but that doesn't bother me near as much as the skin on my abdomen & rear. Also I was a D cup, now struggle to fill a C. I love the outcome of my surgery. I'd do it again in a minute. Just would like to have some of this skin removed. Let me know if you get any responses on how to get United Healthcare to pay part or all of the surgery. Thanks.

Topic: RE: Wow moment!
That is so cool isn't it. I went to cash a check the other day with my old one and they wouldn't do it because it looked so different. I finally went and got a new one. I today weigh what my license has for years. 200 pounds. However when I started loosing I weighed 382. One more pound and I will be under 200 forever.
Keep it up.
Jonita
