I wondered if I let it grow out if the weight of it would help pull down the curl. Thanks for replying.
Topic: Week of 8/3 people
How are you doing? Wow...hard to imagine that we're already 11 months post op. Things are going good for me...I'm only 2 lbs from goal and feeling good. I have decided that DH and I are going to ttc (trying to concieve) again...this is my last week on the patch. I'm pretty stable now and almost at goal so we're ready...afterall...we've been trying for nearly 9 years now. I've gone from a size 26 to a solid 8...sometimes a 6 in pants and from a 3x in shirts to a M. I have lost 112 lbs going from 254 to 142 and mostly I'm proud of the fact that my diabetes, hypertension & sleep apnea are GONE!
SO...how are all you doing?

Great idea Tiffany! Great job for you on your journey! Congratulations!
Well, I was 254 at my highest...and 244 when I had surgery. I'm down to 142 now only 2 lbs from goal...loosing a total of 112 lbs so far. I started in a size 26 and am now in a 6/8 and med/large top (depending on the maker). My diabetes is gone, my hypertension is gone and my sleep apnea is gone. My BMI went from 45 to 25.2...almost normal. I'm working out regularly now and just working on toning. I also try to get in all my vitamins in daily and get in all my protein. I do struggle with dried fruit...it seems to be my weakness lately. I have extra skin which I'm going to try to have removed later...but for now I'll deal with it...I figure it'll come in handy when I get pregnant...which is my next goal. I'm ending the patch after this week to see if it happens.

Hey all,
I feel like I am doing pretty well with this surgery. I started at 337 and was wearing a 30/32. I am currently weighing in at 195 and wearing a size 14. I haven't been a size 14 since highschool, so I am feeling really good about this whole experience. I feel like I have regained a sense of balance in my life in every way. I also feel like this surgery has rekindled so much love, honesty, and passion in my marriage. We are really getting to know eachother on a whole other level. I have been loving shopping at regular stores and borrowing clothes from friends. I have also been soaking up every summer activity possible. I feel reborn in so many ways that I feel like a spokesperson for this surgery. I will post some recent pics soon, and I can't wait to see how everyone else is doing. Take care!!!
Much Love,
Shelli
Topic: RE: Hair
I lost a lot of my hair, but it hasn't started growing back in yet. But I hope it does even if it is frizzy.
There are a lot of products out there for frizzy hair. I think they would be at least worth a try. Also maybe it will get better as more grows in.

Lisa:
I had a anstomotic ulcer ( the connection between pouch and intestines) and on March 12th, it almost killed me, when it ruptured silling my stomach acid and hot coffee I was drinking into my body outside the walls of my stomach. I was in ICU and on life support after emergency surgery. But since then my ulcer has healed. It took a long time, but I am doing fine these days. only problem is I haven't been losing anymore weight since I had my last surgery to stitch up the ulcer.
I even joined a gym and work out more then I was and the scale has not budged even an Oz.
I do have problem with gas, but I use Gas X, and that helps. I think maybe it is all the dairy product I use to get in my protein that cause a lot of it for me.

It's almost been a year for us August people, can you BELIEVE it has been almost a year? Holy Cow!
Let's do an August roll call a little early for our one year...but I can't wait. How are you coming along?
Tell us everything...are you at goal? Are you close? Are you a slow but steady loser? Any complications, any regrets? What is the best thing that you have experienced?
Any and all comments available. I just posted a recent picture in my profile...it isn't the best because my husband is too impatient to take more than one picture and I am too picky to not have about 25 to choose from!
Anyway,
I started at 283...my surgery was 8/10 - I was wearing a size 24 pants and a 2x-3x top.
I now am 156 and wear a size 6/8 pants and a small/medium top. I have lost 127 pounds and I am happy with that. I had 160 in mind for a goal, and I surpassed that and the surgeons goal of 167...so that makes me happy as a clam. As long as I am in a normal weight range for my height and my BMI is normal, everything is cool.
I try to get in all my vitamins and pills a day and most days I do it. I struggle with the protein, but I try to get it from my food and not rely on supplements too much.
I love the new confidence that I have and my only regret is that I didn't do it when I was a little younger and had better skin. LOL...the sag is a downfall, but I will gladly take it.
Bless you all, and I can't wait to hear how you are progressing in your journies!

Ditto, me too! I used to have thicker wavy hair and over time, it thinned out anyway due to a thyroid issue, but I lost a bunch after my surgery and the hair coming in is definitly wiry, frizzy...doesn't want to lay on my head like normal hair, it likes to wave around and fly all over. It's a mess.
I too hope if I can grow it out, that it will look better.
Weird. LOL

Sheila,
Congratulations - that is awesome! My weight loss has slowed almost to a complete stop these days. I am starting a new gym this week (I think I need more of a challenge than Curves currently offers me), so I am hoping to start seeing some results again.
And I agree with Susan - I find that I do have what I am craving, just in moderation. I will have half of a kiddie size cone of soft icecream and be happy. As opposed to the extra large hot fudge banana split that I would have eaten in the past.
Life your new life and enjoy every minute of it!

Hi Alicia!
Yes, I have a bad case of the guilts, too!
Yep, I am in the same boat....ugh!
I have been eating too many carbs and I have the worst gas from it!
I just might as well confess......
......I have not been taking my vitamins as I should and I have a hard time getting my calcium down....it is really a job.
I have been struggling with excercise....I have to make myself leave the house.
And I know that my weight has been creeping back in me. I was at 168 now I am back to 171......not cool.
I also realize that I am not as toned as I was a month ago......so I need to get back to a good exercise routine.....I have started back on the protein train
And I have cut down on the carb-loved foods! It's hard.....but.....I will do it!
Have a great day!
Bernice.............
