A few of your pics were taken at Kemah... When we were in Galvaston recently we heard about it for the first time... What is it like.. we are thinking about going in late Aug or Sept.. Can you give me some info on it??

HI Judy,
You are looking great.. Kudos on your weightloss... I was just thinking this morning how quickly this past year has gone by. I too cant imagine how much I would weigh by now if not for this amazing surgery. I was not given any particular goals by my surgeon. I did not have as big a loss as I would have liked. However I am very happy with what I have lost. When I get discourged with the slowing weightloss I keep reminding myself that it is still a loss.. without surgery it would have been a gain...
Keep up the good work....

Hi everyone. I hope your all well. I just have a little something to share with you all because I am finding I love to play this game which I dubbed...STUMP THE PEOPLE 
Twice this past week, I went up to two people who I have know for years, yet haven't seen since before WLS, one a male, the other a female, and said, "HI, how have you been"? .....AND, they truly did not know who I was. The blank expression on their faces was worth a million words. 
When I reintroduced myself to them, their mouths dropped, they were at awe.....I LOVE IT!!!
I hope you are all enjoying playing this game as much as I am....

It is GREAT to see everyone is doing so well!
Even with some post-op complications I feel Great (0n most days!)
I deffinately love wearing the size 8's! 
It is great to be back where I was when I got pregant with my son ( he is 26!)
I am just bearely 5 feet tall, My heighest was 212 ( mostly from steriods! YUCK!) Pre-surgey was 194, but that was before I had to take the steriods. On the day of surgery I was 202. ( a size 18/20) Ulcers and constrictuers have been the biggest problem for me. and I will have the 6th endo next week. Not sure what will happen if the ulcer is not healing. (and the pain says it is not!) I have not lost as fast as I would have liked and am down just 55 pounds.
I had to move so I have not seen my Surgeon for a while., but I get to see him in a few weeks, for my one year check up. His goal for me was 125 .... I still have about 20 pounds to go.
CONGRATULATIONS EVERYONE!

YES, I am also very tired and even though my blood work says everything is OK, MY MD added vit b's as well as thyorid meds. I had been feeling great for a while but all of a sudden could not go a day with out a 2-3 hour nap! I have only been on the new meds for a few days so not much inmprovment but the thyroid meds take some time to kick in.
Yes I have heard Iron can affevt the thyroid BUT SO CAN NSAIDS.
I have blood work done every 6 weeks... I had a problem with potassium and mag as well as a high hymosystine levels... ( that usually means a low B vit level! but mine were all ok! go figure!)
OH YES MY KNEES seem to be getting worce with every pond I loose! I already have a LONG history with ulcer and have a active post op ulcer ( STILL) so there is NOTHING I can take for the knee pain. I just use a heating pad, or ice. I knew years ago that it was just a matter of time before I'd need both knees replaced.
Before surgery everyone boasted about the many CUERS post op. I have found that not to be true. esp with my arthritis, BUT I also had LYME Desiase so that maakes it all worce.
I would make a list to take to your MD appointment to make sure you get some answers.
I do believe that the surgery was well worth it despite the post op problems.
