Topic: RE: OMG!! I DID IT!!
Thanks Debra! If you don't mind...how tall are you? I'm finding that even though I've reached goal...I could easily loose more weight...I still have a lot of fat on me for what I weigh. I'm wondering if my OMG goal is attainable of 130...hmmm.....

Congrats, Judy!!! I'm so happy for you that the scale is moving again!
And I understand how important those words on the BMI chart can be--I've been hovering 1-3 lbs above the "Overweight" category for what seems like weeks! It's so frustrating. I need to get my saggy behind back to the gym and get that scale moving again!

Topic: FYI: New message boards
Hey, in case you haven't been to the main board lately to see this announcement, they've opened three new boards: one for "lightweights" (BMI 40 or less), one for "heavyweights" (BMI over 50), and one for 20-somethings. Looks like they might start a "grad" board as well, for people over one year out (we're almost there!).
The URLs for the new boards are here:
http://www.obesityhelp.com/morbidobesity/messageboard/postdetail/1395618.html?vc=0
Just thought I'd share this since I know there are people of all three categories here who are frustrated that they don't feel comfortable talking about their particular weight-range issues anywhere else. I don't fall into any of the three categories--guess I'm a 30-something "welterweight"! But if you have a whole lot still to lose, you might find some comfort and understanding companionship at the BMI over 50 board. And if you feel like the WLS world trivializes you because you "only" had about 100 or so pounds to lose, you'll find kinship at the Lightweights board. Even though none of these new boards are for me, I see the need for them and I thought it was very thoughtful of OH to set them up.
Enjoy!

We used to have a GREAT thread! Is everyone gone????

Topic: Wowie!
As I'm sure some of you may know, I'm 13 weeks pregnant and have had a horrible time with morning sickness. This of course has led me to be slightly less interested in "intimacy" than normal... basically I've felt like a nasty, ugly, bloated cow!
HOWEVER...........................
Yesterday I ran into an old flame from about 4 years ago and was PLEASANTLY SURPRISED when he had no idea who the heck I was (I've known him about 12 years). He was flirting, yes, and acting like he knew me, but when it came down to it and I asked him if he knew who I was, he had to admit he didn't. And when I told him--- you should have seen his eyes pop out of his head and his jaw smack the ground!
For all of those girls out there who've been called "big girls" or had a guy who cared about you but couldn't look past your weight--- that was the payback of a lifetime! He just stood there, staring in disbelief! And when I told him I was pregnant too, that about knocked his socks off! We spoke for about an hour, and the entire time he couldn't take his eyes off of me!
HA!!! EAT YOUR HEART OUT!!!!!!!!!!!
The best part was knowing that he no longer had any effect on me, but I know for a FACT that he won't be forgetting me anytime soon! Anyways, that was a great moment in time and I'll never forget the expression on his face!
Lots of love,

Topic: RE: Depo-Provera shot
I've been on Depo Provera since surgery, my weight loss is right on target according to my surgeon. What is eating a great deal??? There are days that I eat more than others, and according to my nutritionist that is very normal. I'm guessing if you actually went into fitday.com and tracked everything you ate on the days you were eating more than you feel you should you are probably totally fine. My nutrtionist wants me to stay between 1200-1500 calories a day, under 50 grams of fat, and at least 65 g. protein. If you are still losing, I really wouldn't worry about it.
The patch is too dangerous as far as the reports that have been out lately, and the pill is not effective enough after surgery. If after a couple of shots you stop losing and start gaining than I'd worry about it.
As I said, I have had NO problem...my weight loss has been slow the last few months, but I have attributed that to my love of wine...with that said...I still on surgeon target.
Good Luck.

Topic: Officially obese!!!!
This morning my BMI finally dropped to the Obese category. I'm no longer Severely Obese!!!! WOO HOO!!! Who'd have thought I'd be happy to be obese. The scale finally started to move again after a very slow go for the last couple of months. I think I need to not drink wine anymore...I really truly believe that is what was keeping the weight from falling. I haven't had any wine in almost a week, and since that point is when the scale started moving again. My surgeon said I should be down 125 lbs. by 8/16...my 1 year mark...I'm going to hit it and be past it if I have anything to say about it! Only 2 lbs. away from hitting it!
I'm so excited!!!!

Topic: RE: Depo-Provera shot
I thought about the shot, but my cousin said she didn't have a period when she took it. And gained weight. I didn't want that. I thought about the patch, but my Dr. said you could have break through bleeding. So I just went and had my tubes tide. I still have to take a low dose birthcontrol pill so that I have a period. But it is working for me so far. I just did not want to get pregnant after losing 86lbs. Hope everything works out for you. Lisa
